Money found and spending carries over from playthrough to playthrough, so you don't have to find and spend $6,000,000 all in one game. It took me a few playthroughs to make and spend the $6,000,000.
A few hints on getting this achievement:
- Get the gambling magazines. There are three in the game: at Ragazines in the Royal Flush Plaza; at Stan's Large Print Books in the Palisades Mall; and another in the Shamrock Casino on the Silver Strip. Keeping these in your inventory will help out a lot.
- With the magazines in your inventory, play the giant electronic slot machine near one of the doors in the Slot Ranch Casino. Keep betting the maximum $1,000 and it'll pay off regularly. The maximum payout is $100,000 per spin, and it's not hard to make a few hundred thousand dollars in the space of a few minutes.
- If you're following the story, after Case 4-1 (The Source) ends, three people will appear in the poker room at the Atlantica Casino; you'll never get a call about them, but they show up at around 1 AM on the third day. If you play them at Texas Hold 'em poker and win, you'll make $1,000,000.
There are a few expensive items to spend cash on in this game once you've gained a lot of money:
- SUV key at Tinker Box pawn shop on Silver Strip ($2,000,000)
- Knight boots at Moe's Maginations pawn shop on Platinum Strip ($2,000,000)
- Chopper key at Army Surplus pawn shop at Palisades Mall ($1,000,000)
- Sports car key at Just In Time Payday Loans pawn shop at Royal Flush Plaza ($500,000)
Also, buying all the fortunes from the fortune teller booth in front of the One Little Duck Bingo Hall on Silver Strip will cost about $1.3 million. |
