Found a odd way to get this not totally legit. I will try and explain how I did it. You will need access to the exchange. Also Credit to all gamers mentioned in this guide.

*As people have suggested in the comments, you don't have to use the houses here, I made them as suggestions. Since making this I'd imagine more people have created houses thus pushing these back along the line. So instead of having to search through the list, Just do the same with similar priced properties.*

Just like to say I don't know if this only works for me, glitch, bug whatever, I have tried it twice and worked both times. Please Let me know if it worked for you.

New game - Choose Household - 13 Ocean View Lane
Start, Town View, 13 Ocean View Lane, Replace, Yes, Yes. You should have around $230k

Now tricky part, go into the exchange and download "Rose Crest Mansion" Created by OIHighRollerIO Valued at $163k
Upload it onto the 13 Ocean View Lane Plot. Now Sell the two cars outside the house. Now again Replace the house same way as before. Now your funds should have gone up to around $290k.
Now back into the exchange, Download "Mista Bishop Estate 804" Created by E2W xTHE BOSSx Valued at $285k
Now sell the 4 cars outside the house, and Replace for a third time. Now your new fund total should be around $370k

Now exchange again and Download "X Masion" Created by JAY TASKA Valued at 358k.

K, Now when it loads up, the money left over will dissapear and you'll have zero similions. But the house is still valued at $358k.
Now go into Live mode, and the achievement may pop. If not go back into Build mode and Pick up and place an object of value. Now go back into Live mode and the achievement should pop.

    Happy Simming :D

UggadunkWell, after selling the first two cars I had $232k, not $290k

I got this almost last as I had a number of problems with the game corrupting save files. In fact, the one I did finally get it on I had to do the last 3 hours without saving as the game crashes every time I try to save it... What I did finally end up doing is noticing that cars count at full value when you buy them, but depreciate quickly. So save your cash and buy a few of those $105,000 cars. Bickity bam.

As far as getting cash, buy up properties, write and paint. One member of my family was putting out 3-6 large paintings a day at between $1500 and $4000 each. Writing is passive after you get a base built up, just laugh as the cheque comes in every week.

Mike LangloisPerfect solution. Much easier than hoping the glitch works.

    Thanks!

The easiest way for me to do this was actually play the game. I made twin sisters and had them work and live out life, but with a goal of saving money. When they had more than 80K I moved them to a better home, then started to really save money.

You can either buy a lot of things and fill the house with 350K worth of items, or you can buy expensive bulk items, which is what I did. I first saved the game when I reached 300K. At 300K I bought two of the most expensive cars (about 100K each), and some of the most expensive statues under decor (about 4-90K). The house I lived in already cost about 90K, so I got the achievement instantly when you exit buy mode and go to live mode. Then I exited the game and reloaded my save game to have my money back (you still have the achievement). Once you buy the car and don't even exit buy mode, it depreciates about 10K, and I didn't want the car, so this was my solution to keeping my original money amount for everything.

Traits that helped me were Neat and Neurotic. Both sims worked in maxed out careers with many salary raises, and one was great at painting, while the other wrote books a lot. This all helped me get a bulk amount of income daily, (because careers have off days). This took me about 10 weeks in sim time, one week in reality. It was much easier for me to do this rather than hope for some glitch to work. Also, it can help you with other achievements along the way if you don't have the others yet.

    Good luck~
