The Fights are available in the mercenaries' compound once you complete the Barracks faction mission and renovation. During Sequence 3, you will be presented with three missions; the Barracks mission is located in the northeast part of Rome. (The other two missions are related to the Thief and Courtesan factions.) Once you have completed the mission and have renovated the mercenaries' faction compound, you can enter and go to the basement to participate in the Fights, a hand-to-hand combat competition where you bet on yourself against 1-5 opponents.
To get this achievement, you must bet 500 florins on yourself in the hardest possible fight, you against 5 mercenaries with a 40 second time limit. These mercenaries are rather difficult, as they have a good amount of health and can throw sand in your eyes and dodge your attacks. However, you can win this pretty quickly with the following method.
When the bell sounds, immediately sprint towards the group, preferably one end of the row of combatants. Attack one combatant constantly (press the left analog stick towards that combatant), mostly throwing punches (X), but you'll also want to throw in some kicks (A) just to keep him on the defense. Keep an eye on the other combatants' health meters -- when one flashes, it means that he is preparing to attack you. Once he begins to attack, you'll want to quickly press RT and X and tilt the left analog stick in his direction to counter his attack. This counterattack will either result in you avoiding his attack and him avoiding your counter, or, in some instances, will give you a scripted combo and an instant defeat of that particular opponent. Time is of the essence in the Fights, so these instant wins are important.
Keep focused on one opponent at a time, while countering the others when they attack. If you get down to a single guy who keeps dodging, stop attacking and wait for him to bend over to throw sand. When he does, quickly attack him and keep swinging until he's down. Following this method, you should meet the target time with a few seconds to spare; I was able to win with about 5 seconds on the clock with 2 counterattack instant wins and 3 punch/kick sequences.

I hope this guide helps, I tired it out several more times after getting the Achievement and had good success with it.
Once you get to the third group I stood and grabbed sand and waited for the Mercenaries to come at me and I tossed a hand full of sand stunning two of them. I then attacked one of the stunned Mercenaries, 9 times out of 10 it would be a K.O hit, and had time to knock out the other two.
I used this strategy for the next two groups, I had time to toss two more handfuls of sand for these groups, one at the start and one in the middle (or end you can judge when you need it). I didn't mash X for attack, nor did I mash A for kicks when a mercenary blocked. I used X and A combo, with this I had a better result with k.o attacks.
I did have trouble with the final mercenary in the last group.
Two things I did to deal with him,
1. If he threw sand at me I would dodge it, then go at him with the X and A combo.
2. If he kept dodging my attacks I would toss sand and then use the combo attack.
Again, I hope this has helped you get this Achievement with limited or no frustration.

I found that the best answer to this achievement is a mix of punching and kicking, with good timed counters. I ran to the middle so it would be more likey that the others would attack.
The reason I did that is so I could counter the others. Counters are knockouts so that's a plus if done right.
Once you are attacking just stay with that guy untill he is down or you need to counter. If after you attack a guy and he dodges don't keep attacking him. Most of the time this will eat up the clock. I tried staying on the outside but that took to much time.
Another good thing about the fight is once you bet the 500 you can just reply and you don't have to set up the money again. |

There is actually a pretty easy way of accomplishing this achievement. If you notice as you are progressing through the fights, the health meter above the mercenary's head will flash white (Usually not the one you are attacking). When this happens if you switch your target to the mercenary whose health meter is flashing and press X (Punch, not counter attack) it almost always performs a finishing move. Continue with this method and you should get the achievement.

Unlike Prokop - I had major issues with this one. My crack to this was I didn't target one guy until he was dead - I hit anything that moved. This got multiple targets down in their hit points and allowed for consecutive kill shots around the 15 second mark.

Hey, something I noticed here. Remember in previous games when you needed to hit the X button right as Ezio's last punch connected? That still applies. Hitting it in rhythm makes you more likely to preform a finishing blow.
Also, as previously stated, throwing sand at the beginning is life-saving. |
