You'll have to destroy your 1st tower in a story mission at the very beginning of the game, it's unmissable.

After that, you can take them down when you want.
You'll have to reach chapter 7 to gain access to every tower, though.
    There are 12 towers.

Check for new areas often, because every Borgia tower destroyed will reward you with a new assassin trainee for your squad. They're really great and you want to level them up asap.
I'd say that you gain access to 1 or 2 new towers with each new DNA sequence.

To destroy a tower, you'll first need to kill the borgia captain.
They're all different, giving some variety to the task.
They'll be on groud level, on horse, surrounded by guards... It's funny to find the right way to kill them.
But it's not difficult in most cases.

WicelowThe 1st tower you'll have to destroy is required to progress through the main game, so it's not missable.

KloxiconGreat guide. Thank you so much I didn't even know how to go about destroying the towers that you had to kill the borgia captain first.

Octobot SuperThere are hints on how to kill each in the DNA menu. They aren't great, but they'll get you started.

As mentioned, most of them are easy. There are two types of Borgia captains - coward and courageous. For the latter you don't need any tactic - you can kill all of them on your way or try to sneak up. With cowards I recommend to sneak up somewhere close (a good thing is to be on a rooftop) and shoot the guy, because right after you are spotted by them they run away. Better use pistol than crossbow, they sometimes don't die from the first shot.

I only had problems with two of them.

First one was placed in the corner of antico, centro and campanilla districts, the one with the tunnels underneath. You can clear your way on the outside yourself, find the entrance, while going down call your assassin's for all enemies spotted - this will prevent you getting discovered. When you reach the room with the captain (on the lowest level), call the assassin's again for the two guards you see, afterwards climb on the wall in the middle of the room (avoid detection!). When you are ready (make sure your pistol is on) swiftly climb up and shoot the captain - he has to die from the first shot so be precise.

The second one is to the south of the first one, the one with borgia captain on horse. I took the entrance through the small canyon. Call the assassin's for all enemies. The captain will be doing small rounds on the right of the restricted area. Sneak up, hide behind the walls, get as close as possible. Do not use the hay which is closest to the captain - I got detected (I think it is unavoidable) and the captain run away.Observe his route - he sometimes dismounts and searches the hay - and when he is as close as possible, shoot the bastard :)

Chameleon1977For the one on the horse, I found the best way was to use the lift that brings you up behind a wall close to his position. From there you can get so you're clinging to the wall by fingertips out of view of everyone. Then wait until the captain comes in front of you, quickly get to the top of the wall and hit X to assassinate. Added bonus is this works toward a guild task to perform air assassinations against a rider on a horse.
This was my last tower :)

hugo3104About cowards ... if you can't kill them, let them go ... they will come back a little later with changing of guard ... if some guards are still present , kill them, and wait for the captain
