Kawharu is hard hitting but takes hits like a chump.

He's pretty fast for a guy his size. Then again, this is a video game and nothing really makes sense.

"Charge head first into the vicious world of illegal free fighting tournaments, where you will use every muscle in your body to battle your way to the top." they say... and yet no one has brass knuckles. Oh well.

Anyways, the strategy for Kawharu is fairly simple to defeat him. (this should work in the lower difficulties as well for scoring.)

He likes to punch a lot. His strength is your strength. Dodge and straight punch him. Pretty much keep it simple. If you get fancy, he gets fancy.

The one exception to it is doing combo 6 whenever you get the chance. He does the trigger quite often. If you get 2 Combo 6's in a row, that knocks out 2/3 of his life.

Combo 6: If you dodge an opponent's Spinning Left Back Fist, use a Spinning Right Back Fist to counter. (follow up is a Left Back Fist, then Right Back Fist: Left Hook and Right Hook does the combo animation too if lazy)

So now you've dodged and counter punched him to the point where you have a Super Strike.

Follow that up with a Straight Punch Super Strike (no surprise huh?). From there, what I liked to do was an immediate Right Straight Kick, Left Round Kick - for the 40,70 diversity bonus damage.

If you feel like taking a risk, continue kicking him until he dodges, mixing it up as you kick. If you can land consecutive strikes after the suggestion above, you'll do some major damage to the point of just about knocking him out.

Rinse and repeat until you win.

Key things to note:

1. If you get pushed to long range and you block his round kick and get the chance to counter. I recommend sweeping. Anything else and he may retaliate kick immediately after counter. Waste of life.

2. The more focus he loses, the more he retaliate strikes if I remember correctly. When hes empty of focus, he retaliates almost non-stop.

3. His weak spot is his legs but it takes too long for its effect and doesnt do much more damage if not the same. He is also more likely to dodge a low round kick strike than a punch to the head. It also has less follow up potential.

4. Overhead punch drops him into his crouching punchs stance. Nothing good comes of that.

5. Speaking of Crouching punchs, if he goes into that position, the best solution is to dodge it then kick him out of it. Barring that, kick him and hope he gets out of it. He does multiple strikes and it racks up damage fairly quickly.

6. He hurts so don't let him start swinging too much in a row.

With this strategy, I scored 15,495 in Open League.
