Use your time travel backwards as much as possible (hold down LT the entire time) and this will either get you the achievement or get you 2:39 or something close. To get extra time, use your time travel forwards the entire time which increaeses the chances of shooting down an enemy that offers you more backwards time travel seconds to use. Doing both I got over 3 minutes no problem.
