3. Story walkthrough
Before you start you'll have to choose your difficulty and control scheme. There are no difficulty related achievements so it's up to you. Your choice should depend on your previous experience with arcade flight games.
You will unlock these achievements along the way:
Destroy 100 ground units in Campaign Game
Shoot down 100 aircraft in Campaign Game
This requires a bit of luck since you don't have a lock-on ability. Just take an airplane with rockets like the Lavochkin 5 and press LB to switch your secondary weapon to rockets. Aim at an enemy that's coming right at you and release your rocket(s) with LT.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Siege of Tobruk
Destination Tobruk
Land at Tobruk
Fly in the direction of the green mark on your radar. Upon arrival you'll get a message stating that you can't land.
Destroy Luftwaffe or Lure into ambush
Turn around and fly in the direction of the red mark on your radar. Don't even bother going to the green mark on your radar as you still have to destroy the Luftwaffe after ambushing them. Just kill them right away.
Smuggle Motor Parts
Collect motor parts at marked point (while undetected)
Fly low and take it easy. Set a course for the green mark on your map and avoid the red marks. Enemy planes will have a bright radius on your radar. Stay out of the radius to stay undetected. Fly through the yellow rings to land automatically.
Return to base
Now just do the same while returning to base.
Stop Nazi Spy
Locate hidden oasis
This time there won't be a mark on you radar to navigate to. This is the part where the game teaches you to use the direction meter in the bottom left corner. As you turn your plane you'll notice the bar starts to fill. Keep turning your plane until the bar is fully filled.
Destroy two escaping vehicles
Destroy two escaping biplanes and other enemy aircrafts
Time to kill some enemies. Keep in mind you have a limited time to do so.
Smuggle Whisky (4x Star)
Fly to marked point
Protect Ahmed - Destroy the Nazi ground patrol (Time 2:10)
Cripple Oil Reserves
Eliminate Anti-Aircraft defences
Clear the air of enemy planes before going after the AA's. After destroying the 6th AA you'll notice a Star hovering in the air (while flying in the direction of the next couple of enemies). Fly through the star to get a new objective.
Destroy Nazi Convoy
Turn around and fly away from your previous destination. You'll see some new red marks on your map. Go finish them off to get an extra star.
After doing so you can go back to the remaining AA's and shoot them to pieces.
Protect McIntyre's Bombers
Just try to focus on destroying the enemies as soon as possible. There will be only 2 waves of 3 planes.
Rescue Clive
Locate Clive using your radio
Destroy AA defences and enemy planes
Escape and protect Tommy's airplane
Contantinople (flashback)
Locate artillery targets
Confirm bombing: hold position until further orders
Check first, second and third beach for potential ANZACs landing (3 objectives)

Experimental Plane
Locate experimental plane using radio
There will be no marked point on your radar, so you're going to turn in the right direction again to fill the bar in the bottom left corner.
Follow experimental plane undetected
As soon as you've found the Black Wing, start going to the left (or right) and go around the 3 planes with a wide movement whilst staying undetected. Pursue them once you're behind.
Cripple plane to force emergency landing
You will be told to ignore other planes and cripple the Black Wing. If you ignore this advice you will fail the objective and the Black Wing will escape. Don't be afraid to accidentally take her down. If you shot her a few times you'll get a message stating the success of the objective. Immediately after she lands you'll get a warning to return to the battle. Turn around and fulfil your next objective.
Defend transport from bombers
Kill Morozov
Fly to Russian base
Scramble counter attack - attack Russians
Drop a bomb on the stationary planes in the Russian base.
Lead Russians over Morozov's base
Start flying towards the mark on your radar as soon as possible. If you're too slow you'll constantly be shot by the Russians and you probably won't make it to Morozov's base. Make sure you have a head start.
Wait for Morozov to take off
Circle around the base, stay alive and let the timer count down.
Kill Morozov
You can take him down as easy as any other plane. Hell, if you're quick enough he won't even have the chance to shoot at you.

Protect ANZACS - Destroy enemy planes
Operation Black
Defend Bridge
Defend units at bridge
Just destroy the enemy aircrafts before they kill the units at the bridge (health bar at the bottom of your screen)
A second and third wave will appear after some cut scenes.
Reclaim Installation
If you don't mind the low agility of the B-25 Bomber plane you should stick to that one. Otherwise use the Ilyushin 2 Fighter Bomber.
Destroy enemy AA and vehicles
Bomb anti-tank fences to free way
Fly to the star on your radar and start dropping some bombs on the fence (yellow markings).
Find & destroy all hidden tanks
Fly to the star on your radar and start dropping bombs below the yellow markings. That's one of four tanks destroyed. The location of two remaining tanks will show up on your radar now. Circle around the yellow markings to find the last hidden tank and destroy it. It's nearly invisible and it could cost you some time to find it.
Route Chetniks forces - attack them
Don't drop any bombs on the Chetniks, just use your machine gun until they retreat.
Contact
Most of your planes won't be available for this mission. You can choose between the Zenith A6Z and the B-25 Bomber. I strongly recommend the B-25 Bomber for this mission even though it's not as manoeuvrable as the Zenith A6Z. The reason why you should take the B-25 is because it has more speed and you'll need a fast plane for the third objective.
Land at People's Liberation Army Camp
Another stealth mission so remain undetected whilst flying to the marked point.
Transport weapons to battlefield (while undetected)
It's best to take the long way around the left to avoid enemy planes.
Return to camp (within time limit) (1:55 minutes)
No time to waste here. Just rush to the objective at full throttle.
Destroy attacking aircraft
Deception
Destroy 2 Nazi scout planes (let one escape)
Destroy bombers before they see destroyed bridge (1:10 minutes)
There are 3 waves of 3 bombers and in between each wave you'll get a couple of seconds extra time.

Planes available for this mission: Zenith A6Z, Junkers Stuka, Ilyushin 2 and B-25. I recommend the Junkers Stuka.
Fly to People's Liberation Army Camp
Destroy attacking fighters
Land at camp (within 30 second limit)
Take off and escape to marked point
Just ignore the enemies and fly to safety.
Massacre
Planes available for this mission: Zenith A6Z, Junkers Stuka, Ilyushin 2 and B-25. I recommend the Junkers Stuka.
Take off and protect outpost
Defend hospital
Defend settlement
You actually don't need to defend anything, just kill all the enemy planes.

There are 5 or 6 balloons to destroy. You'll get some help from your squad so it should be a piece of cake.

Chase this plane as soon as it takes off and shoot it down. Keep in mind: This plane has rockets aboard and they'll take you down in no time if you don't pay attention. Use your own rockets to deal with this plane as fast as possible.

Eliminate soldiers inside factory
Eliminate escaping vehicles before they reach the forest
Sieczychy Patrol
Planes available for this mission: Messerschmitt bf109 and Junkers Stuka. I recommend the Messerschmitt bf109 because this is a recon mission. You need speed and agility instead of firepower.
Reach border post
Locate German forces (while undetected)
During these missions just ignore the messages about aircraft patrols. Just fly from one checkpoint to another, whilst avoiding enemy aircrafts and you should be fine.
Escape to marked point
Bombing Assessment
Planes available for this mission: Spitfire, Messcherschmitt bf109, Ilyushin 2, Lavochkin 5 and B-25. Doesn't matter which plane you choose as long as you don't take the B-25. Believe me, you will regret it.
Assess success of bombing raid
Escape to marked point (within time limit) (0:40)
As soon as you've checked the third bombing raid location, turn left and fly away from the enemy planes coming your way. This is where your next objective will be but it will only show up after Clive quits talking.
Emergency land with crippled aircraft.
Don't panic when your screen turns red and you get a warning about stalling. This is perfectly normal in this game so don't stress out.
Evacuate Factory
Planes available for this mission: Zenith A6Z, Junkers Stuka, Ilyushin 2, B-25 and Lavochkin 5. You won't be able to use the plane you took on your last mission because it crashed. I recommend Junkers Stuka.
Destroy enemy fighters before they reach factory
Eliminate train carrying cannon (time limit)
Land to collect Clive
Eliminate enemy tanks before they fire on the convoy (1:50)
Don't rely on your bombs too much. Try to take as many down with your machine gun as quickly as possible.
Operation Belt

Eliminate defending German units (within time limit) (3:50)
Just focus on killing the ground troops and ignore the enemy aircrafts.
Destroy artillery (within time limit) (4:00)
Eliminate German tanks (within time limit) (3:05)
Flashback
Kill 70 attacking enemy soldiers on the ground
The enemy soldiers are barely visible on the ground. Look underneath the arrow pointing down and drop bombs until you've killed 70 soldiers.
Land with crippled plane
Your plane has been hit and you can only go up, down and turn right. Land at the marked point.
Operation Overlord

Fly along railway: find & destroy semaphores (time limit)
At the start of this level just follow the railway until you get to the first target. Quickly destroy it and continue following the railway until the next target.
You have to repeat this one more time to complete the mission.
Paratrooper Attack
Eliminate enemy fighters and paratroopers in the air
Eliminate paratroopers on the ground (at least 12%)
Just shoot at the parachutes in the air. Try to line up with the paratroopers in the air, this way you can shoot a lot of them in a short time.
Rescue Tommy by landing near him
Steal Medical Supplies
Eliminate all vehicles & soldiers at first warehouse (5:00)
Eliminate all vehicles & soldiers at second warehouse (time limit)
Destroy bombers before they destroy the train
Deliver Medical Supplies
Planes available for this mission: Zenith A6Z, DB-3, B-25. I recommend the DB-3 bomber because it's the least worst of these three planes.
Drop three medical supplies at first drop-off point (2:40)
There will be 3 enemy planes during this objective. Try to destroy them before reaching the drop-off point. Clive isn't much of a support act and he won't be able to cover your back.
Drop three medical supplies at second drop-off point (2:50)
Two more enemy planes will appear but if you're quick enough you can drop-off the supplies before they arrive.
Escape to marked point
Defend The Republic
Destroy enemy bombers (no more than 15 can escape)
Medical Escort
Protect transport planes (no more than 6 can be destroyed)
Protect Tommy & Rene's transport plane
Flashback
Fly over enemy positions and locate artillery
Help destroy enemy artillery
Destroy machine gun nests
Slovak Uprising
Partisan Deployment
Planes available for this mission: He-111, DB-3, B-25. Once again, I recommend the DB-3 bomber.
Deploy 10 Partisans at first marked point (2:08)
While flying to the marked point, remain undetected. Bomber planes are not very manoeuvrable and you don't want other planes shooting at you while you drop of Partisans.
Another option is to take care of all enemy planes before going to the first marked point. Be quick though as you only have a little amount of time before your objective fails. If you succeed, no other enemy planes will bother you for the rest of the mission.

Protect Katyusha rocket launchers - 50% must survive
Bomb enemy bunkers
Ignore the enemy planes (or take them down, if you like) and bomb the 3 enemy bunkers.
Eliminate advancing German tanks

Move rail blockades (within time limit) (2:45)
Drop a bomb underneath the yellow arrow. If done correctly it should say "First Blockade Removed". Keep on doing this until all the blockades are destroyed.
Defend train from enemy fighter-bombers
Army Movement
Protect 2nd Czechoslovakian brigade
Slovakian Retreat
Destroy first Tiger tank at rail crossing
To complete this objective you have to destroy the Tiger tank when it's on the yellow markings. If you destroy the tank before it reaches the markings you'll fail. The tank stops on the yellow markings for a couple of seconds. If you wait too long, it will move on and the objective will be failed.
Destroy second Tiger tank at bridge
Same as the previous objective, but this time you have to bomb the tank when it's on the bridge.
Destroy first Tiger tank at rail crossing
Now, let's do it again but at the next bridge along the river.
Destroy second Tiger tank at bridge
You know the drill by now.

Move on to the next bridge and bomb yet another Tiger tank

Parachute officer onto marked point
As usual with stealth mission, take the long way around and keep an eye on your radar at all times.
Fly back
Don't get spotted while flying back. If you are spotted you'll be swarmed with enemy planes and, chances are, you won't make it to the marked point. There are no checkpoints in this mission which means you can't mess up without having to start all over again.
Escaping Generals
Fly to the airbase and eliminate general's aircraft
Eliminate remaining fighter aircraft
Approach the 2 Messerschmitts from behind to avoid a frontal attack. They'll shoot rockets at you and it's practically a one hit kill.
Destroy all escaping vehicles
Shot down two generals from formation
After completing this objective you should have enough stars to unlock the last plane. The achievement will unlock once the mission is over.
