This DLC pack (which can now only be obtained if you buy the Gold Edition of MUA) is a good add-on for fans of the Marvel Universe, which would be nothing without its villains. Here's a take on each of the new characters:
Dr. Doom: Yeah, we know he's suppose to be the story's main villain, but they come up with an explanation for that (sort of). Doom is good for dealing out massive amounts of damage at long range with his laser eyes and his lightning attacks. Having another flyer with super strength is always handy for the campaign.
Magneto: The Master of Magnetism has a variety of attacks at his disposal such as being able to force grab enemies (like Dr. Strange) or shooting a ball of metal that ricochets off walls (exactly like Cap's shield). He's also equipped with a boost like Thor's that increases your group's levels temporarily.
Sabertooth: Think of a bigger, faster version of Wolverine, but without the Berserker Mode. That's it. Not bad, but also not original.
Venom: I like to think of him as Spider-Man 2.0. His attacks are more geared towards heavy damage dealing, but my personal favorite is a move where he sends out his tendrils at every nearby enemy, pushing them away while dealing damage. It works great in arcade mode because it keeps shoving away enemies the other players are trying to hit. Best character in the pack.
Each character gets a variety of outfits ranging from classic styles to ones from the Ultimate Universe, but I always come back to the default costumes. They're just better. |
