I haven't been a member here long, having joined towards the end of April, and this is my first forum post, but I've uploaded 78 Solutions, so I think that shows my commitment.
I record Video Guides, and submit them here, and on the very first day most of my Solutions had received almost completely Negative votes. I didn't know whether to attribute this to my videos being bad (because no comments were left), or because I was a new guy in a well established site. Seems it was the latter because within a week, the Positive votes were higher then the Negative on almost all of my videos.
I think my videos are the best guides around, then again, I made them so I would think that. My opinion is completely biased. It still seems largely unfair to me though, that some of my solutions have large Negative numbers attributed to them, but I have faith that some people will still give it an up-vote if they like it. That was until I realised that 3 of my solutions were "autohidden due to low vote ratio". these videos can't claw back any self-respect, so I'm going to delete, and re-upload them. Not to give myself a higher ratio, but to put it back out there for people to see, and hopefully help them. That's why I make the guides.
So yeah, I do feel I've been targeted by serial down-voters, but I completely shrugged it off until it caused my Solutions to be hidden. Now I appreciate even more, every Positive vote I get. So thank you to everyone who has ever supported me in that way. And to anyone who dislikes my solutions, leave me a comment. Let me know why! It helps me to grow a guide maker. |

| Go to Customize - My Settings - Reviews and Solutions. Change Review list access and Solution list access to "just you" or "no one". That should get rid of most of the downvotes you get right after you post things. At least, I use those settings and don't get hit with downvotes right when I post. I assume people scan the recent reviews list (or click your badge) to get at your solutions. If you change the settings it should lessen it greatly, if not stop it completely. |

I tried the nerdy way and just replaced the userid in a valid address, but Rich apparently accounted for that. Nice catch.

At any rate, not detailing the exact method is enough to keep the casual user from abusing the process. Most of them would have no idea what to do even knowing that Google is the tool. |

Funny, I didn't notice that I actually typed "Do you invite armed robbers, who aren't a problem, into your house, only to be incorrectly punished by a broken justice system."
