Of course it is not. I think it would actually not be a bad idea to let users create their optimal system out of a set of options. It would be a nightmare to evaluate but hey, why not! |

| That's actually a good idea, ET, kinda like we ended up doing for DLC options. No one could agree so we gave everyone the choice of 3 options. No idea if it would be possible to code but if it was it would keep more people happy. |

[ i] xxxxx [ii] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [iii] x [iv] xxxxxxxxx [v] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [vi] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [vii] xxxxx [viii] xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [ix] xx
Which would mean :
[] not many people want it left "as is" [ii] Removing the Ratio Badge would be hugely popular [] Adding a forced Comment box when Down Voting is not a popular change [iv] People DO seem to want a way of down voting a solution preserved [v] Although they don't want this Down Voting represented on a badge or anywhere else [vi] Keep all Guides visible, no matter what their "Voting Total" might be. [] People still want to see lots of Guides, just be able to easily see a Top 5 etc [viii] A large amount of people would like to replace the "Quantity" Button with a "Quality" Button [] If you do remove the Solution Count Button they DO want you to replace it with 'something'.

I hate to jump in here a little (way too) late, but I think that you should not delete your solutions due to downvotes, as long as its clear and actually helps. That being said, when it comes to solutions or reviews particularly, I don't think the authors opinion should be the motivation for a vote. Whether or not I like what someone says, or necessarily agree, If they write like a human being, and what they are saying holds weight (whether I agree or not) it deserves an up vote, or at the least no vote at all.

| well there are some tracking sites like raptr that tells who up voted and/or down voted your comments, solution, reviews etc.And some people down vote in retaliation for it.or they post a comment and bitch at you.removing down votes all together is pointless unless you remove positive votes, but then you end up with no way of separating good solutions from bad ones.most of the solutions given won't really solve a thing cause no matter you can't make everyone happy all the time.So just leave things as they are and just hope people develop thicker skin and stop caring about down votes. If I write a solution and it helps someone get the achievement then good.if a bunch of pale losers with no life want to troll and down vote, sucks to be them. The site is like a neighborhood mostly everyone gets along, but there is always gonna be a couple neighbors that are assholes.ignore them move on with your life and smile knowing they will grow old and alone, ultimately dieing a sad pathetic death. |

That way Members can 'tick' one or more compatible options that they like. The output would be a tally chart, showing the least and most popular combinations.
Single elements on the Poll , would allow the Members to pick the exact combination they would like best.
For example
Tick the options you would like to see developed: [ i] No change at all, leave it as it is [ii] Remove the Solution Vote Ratio Badge [iii] Add a forced Comment box when Down Voting [iv] Remove Down Voting all together [v] Keep Down Voting, but it is hidden, only used as a way of reducing the +'ive Vote Count [vi] Keep all Guides visible, no matter what their "Voting Total" might be. [vii] Only show the Top 'x' Scoring Guides/Solutions e.g. 5/4/3/2/ and 1 Star Solutions [viii] Replace the Solution Vote Ratio Button with a "Solutions in the Top 5" [ix] Remove the Solution Count Button with no replacement
That covers every point made in this Thread, i think.
This would allow each Member to select the bespoke 'DNA' of how they wanted this handled.
That would provide the TA Team with the best decision model.iB RoidRage 'might' vote

I was looking at the scores for Final Fantasy WP and I'd say about 80% of them have comments on them. Some of them are stupid or fairly useless ("awesome") but a lot of them seem at least somewhat useful and a good chunk of the negative votes have some sort of explanation as well. I don't know why the comment to vote ratio is so high on said WP reviews, (TA is probably 1:50) but it is.
I can only assume that the reason is the score screen. You have 5 stars to vote and a box for a comment. You can vote without leaving any comment at all, but perhaps having that box there as a winkwinknudgenudge makes people comment so much. I'm sure it has been suggested previously but I'm not sure by who or where. Seeing it on the WP makes me think that it might work as a middle ground between a few of the solutions presented here. |

Are you sick of serial Down voters? I am. I think we all are... For years now.
So my idea is to force anyone who votes negative to leave an explanation as to why they are leaving a negative feedback. And by that I don't mean leave an explanation in the comments.... The site should force a prompt to leave an explanation which would be seen by the entire community and perhaps saved under a separate link below comments.
Also make it so a person can't type ....... Aaadhdhdhfb
Make it say 7 words at least, and then if the negative voter does not leave a good reason then the mods could remove that negative feedback or even after 5 or 10 "bad" negative votes the user would not be allowed to leave feedback.
You know we users bust our ass to create good solutions that 90% of users like and use and then some jerks decide to downvote for no reason.
I even had a solution downvoted on by a user and his 5 friends that he asked to also downvote simply because my solution said to camp and snipe.... Which was the best way to get it, but he hated the fact I suggested camping.... This is the prime example of why these "people" and i use that word loosely, need to be stopped. |

I wouldn't mind getting negative feedback that said "Because I don't like you". That way I know my solution still works and won't care My problem is not recieving negative votes, but not understanding why. |
