Frank West is back!
Capcom hosted their annual Captivate press event in Miami last week, and one of the pieces of news revealed at the event was the existence of a brand new game in the Dead Rising series: Dead Rising 2: Off The Record.

As the trailer details, Off The Record is an alternate storyline to Dead Rising 2, with Frank West back in the starring role in a reimagining of the Fortune City outbreak. "Forget what took place in Dead Rising 2, this is Frank’s story told as only he can."
Once a high profile hero and celebrity, Frank West is now a broke has-been. He travels to Fortune City to appear on the Terror Is Reality TV show and try to revive his career. But most importantly, he needs money so he can buy the Zombrex he needs to save himself from his infection...
The game is an all new experience, complete with new missions, new enemies and Psychos, and new combo weapons, as well as a brand new Fortune City attractions to explore. Frank’s return also means that the camera is back, with DR1's Prestige Points a part of the gameplay too. OTR will also feature enhancements to the save system and the co-op, and optimisation to the load times, though specific details are yet to be revealed. What has been confirmed about the game's co-op is that players will team up as Frank and DR2's Chuck Greene.

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record is not DLC, nor is it another XBLA title - this is a a full retail game, scheduled for release this Autumn/Fall.

Really?! Another DR2 Retail after making 2 full arcade games?!
Talk about milking.
Still, Looks like fun, I did miss Franks charm in DR2. |

Dont see why they dont do it as dlc, there going to be re-using most (if not all) of the assets of dead rising 2. But im not gonna complain about another 1000g.
And I dont know if anyone here knows this...but frank west has covered wars ;) |

ARGH I posted this first. But W/E.
It was ORIGINALLY going to be DLC, but they changed a lot from what I understand, like the camera system and a new autosave feature.
Also, when did Frank get SO FAT? |

IIRC, In DR1, Frank was 36.
It's been some years since then, and now he is 41....I know his look has changed considerably, but in actuality, it is quite the realistic change. |

| so Ca$h-Con are at it again: first i read about Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edtion coming out as a new disc release and now this. both of these should be DLC seeing as they are pretty much recycling an already existing game and putting it in a new box. |

| Probably a rental. I wasn't that impressed with Case:West and I think it's safe to assume they're reusing a lot of the stuff from DR 2. |
