More mech action
Namco Bandai has released another deluge of screenshots for their upcoming mech action game Armored Core V. The latest instalment of the franchise sees a newly designed online mode that focuses on huge team-based battles, as well as a "robust" offline mode. The mechs will be smaller in scale than previous games, meaning that gameplay will centre on tactics and the geography of the level, rather than the attacks themselves.

The game has now been confirmed for an October 2011 release in Japan. However, before the game's release, From Software are planning to hold a closed beta for the game. The developer will be looking for names to join the beta shortly, but a start date has yet to be confirmed.
Armored Core V is due to be released in early 2012 for Europe and North America. |

| Does look very good, not played an Armoured Core game since PS1/2. PS1 days were great, PS2 they lost their appeal, don't see any reason to go back. |

| the last good armored core game was AC 2: another age. Maybe AC 3. Since then... not so much... but my gamertag came around from what i named my AC (mech)... so i have to at least try it out. |

| Oh dear lord! The story better be explained more, the gameplay more understandable, and something more than just customization, cause AC4 was no good at all! |

Unfortunately, Namco Bandai seem more intent on flooding us with screenshots and concept art, rather than providing any gameplay details. Aside from artwork assets, the only details provided by Namco Bandai are written in the introductory text of this story, and that literally only said that they've changed some things. |

| I really liked the Mech Warrior series on PC, but I'm afraid that armored core games are too Japanese for me. Not to mention that most of the achievements of mech games are mindless grindfest so far. |
