Replica weapon may be purchased on its own or with the game
Epic Games apparently feels like their current Special Edition offerings are not quite enough to satisfy the biggest Gears fanatics amongst us.
Today, the developer of the upcoming Gears of War 3 revealed that Retro Lancer Replicas will also be bundled with copies of Gears 3, though at an additional cost.

Here are a couple of details about the Retro Lancer:
Created from the actual 3D data used by Epic Games in the Gears of War 3 video game
Over 3 1/2 Feet in Length
Trigger Activates Machine Gun Sound Effect
Hand Painted with weathered and battle worn detailThe Retro Lancer, crafted by NECA, will also be available independently of the game.
As of right now, you can only pre-order your chosen version of Gears of War 3 with the Retro Lancer from Gamestop. The Standard Edition will run you $140, the Limited Edition will cost $160, and the Epic Edition will set you back more than a new 4GB Xbox 360 Slim will with a cost of $230. The Lancer may also be purchased separately for $100.
There is no word yet as to whether these bundles will be available at other retailers or in other regions.
Gears of War 3 is scheduled for release worldwide on September 20th, 2011

I want this to a degree, but I've already put $150 down for the Epic Edition. Don't know that I can justify another $80.
So I think I'm going to get my brother the Gears + Lancer combo for his birthday. I'll just keep the Lancer. ;)
Seriously though, I'm pretty bummed about not being on the Gears bandwagon the last time there was a replica lancer. Trying to hold off on spending so much on one game though! |

I got enough plastic crap to collect dust.
I might still buy it if it had a chainsaw that was made out of Nerf though.
Edit: $230 for Epic edition?!? That thing better make me coffee, or be made out of gold.

around £100 just for a retro version of a gun, think ill pass on this. Probably just buy the normal edition. Special edition looks good but i cannot see myself using any of the things especially the Adam fenix character I'll only play as Carmine.
Wonder how many people would actually buy this retro seperate? |
