This is my last song for the 5 star every Expert song achievement. I played for over an hour last night and all I could get was low 3 stars on vocals, and low 4 stars on guitar and bass. The problem with the guitar and bass is the main song with the fast alt-strumming: I am unable to get a consistent streak. I guess its just pick either Guitar or Bass and practice, practice, practice? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

To be honest there isn't much difference in the rhythm of the song between guitar and bass.

I think Bass is a lot easier to make mistakes on and the multiplier is then harder to build up and keep so Guitar is probably the way to go.

What part of the strumming are you finding difficult? Try and start and end with a downstrum on all of the mini sections.

Hopefully you can post back a bit more about it and I will see what else I can suggest. smile

I did it on Guitar myself. Like Will said, Bass has a tougher rhythm to keep and it seems to switch the strum patterns up occasionally on the chorus riff. The solo can be a problem, as can the chords in the heavier part after the solo.

Something that could help would be counting. Off the top of my head I can't think of the count for the song, but it is something like 1...2...3...4 continuing for most of the song. The thicker white bars on the note track are the count bars, each time once passes the strum area, count. Eventually you will pick out the rhythm of the song and will be able to tell. The last cont, be it 3 or 4, will be just before you repeat your first section of the verse riff. Hopefully that makes sense. I think I may have an idea on how to explain it better with a video, but try this first.

Do drums, 80% the solo and 100% everything else. Should be an easy 5-star.

I hate that song...

Thanks guys for the advice...I am going to give it another hour or so tonight and I'll post what happened. I'll go with guitar and see what happens. The problem is just I think that I overstrum during the verses (the chorus is no problem and the solo is playable) so that I can't get a consistent run (hardly even x2 during the verses). As far a tsunamishadow goes...yeah I have no chance for the drums :)

After literally thirty attempts I finally got 5 stars on Bass (~230,500 points). Pathetically I just re-configured my lag on my TV and it went a lot easier :)
