We've got you covered in C-Bus!
The Newshounds here at TrueAchievements do our best to keep you, our amazing community, updated on the news of the industry and what's going on in Xbox-Land. Typically, this involves us going through press releases, disseminating information and pulping it into the delicious news goo that you expect from our high-quality team.
This weekend, however, that is going to change a bit!
Starting tomorrow Major League Gaming will be invading Columbus, Ohio (the hometown of your favorite Newshound... or, failing that, me) for a weekend gaming tournament with serious prizes on the line. The best news of this whole shebang is that we've got you covered. Starting tomorrow afternoon (2:00PM EDT) I'll be on-site covering all of the events for TA.
If you're interested in what's going on with MLG there are several things you can do to stay in the loop.
1- Check back here for updates!
Every evening I'll be submitting a report on the day's activities. What was cool, noteworthy, spectacular or even spectacularly mundane. Since I'll be on the scene, I'll be working to get interviews with the pros as well as possible tips for you to use in your multiplayer gaming. In short, I've got blank slate to work with and am going into this with the goal to find you the most interesting angles from the weekend.
2- Follow me on Twitter.
I'll be live tweeting through the day with what's going on at the Greater Columbus Convention Center as well as news and updates from the contest. You never know, I might find something funny and/or scathing to post, too (Terrelle Pryor MAY show up in a Ferrari, but that's pure speculation.). You can follow me @osubluejacket
Plus, if enough people are in the area and interested, there MAY be a tweet-up... possibly surrounding some Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream.
Now here's where it gets fun. We (and by we, I generally mean "I") want to know what YOU want to hear from this weekend. Do you want interviews with the pros? Tips on how to dominate Mortal Kombat, Halo: Reach or Call of Duty: Black Ops (the three console competition games)? Industry spotlights from MLG and other exhibitors? Where to find the best chow and brew in C-Bus? You name it! We've got an awesome community here at TA and we genuinely want to know what you'd like to see covered. So keep it positive and let us know what you think!

I don't plug a lot of products, but Jeni is some sort of a witch with amazing ice cream abilities. Word is that BioWare is putting her in Dragon Age III. |

The tweet-up is a great idea. I've always wanted to meet some fellow TA'ers. I normally wouldn't mind making the trip down, but I'm unfortunately already all booked up for the weekend. It's worth the trip for Jeni's alone, I've had it a few times. |

| Well you sir are lucky for getting to go. I am hoping I might get a chance to make it up there (I live near Dayton) but if not I will be checking here for your updates. I personally would like to hear what some of the pros have to say. |

i don't really care about MLG, it's a waste of time, why watch other people play games when.....YOU CAN PLAY THEM YOURSELVES!!!!
Playing games is something to be enjoyed by all not focused into tournaments where there is "big money" to be won. I like getting achievements and try to get as many from games as possible but at the end of the day I know they don't mean anything which can also be said about MLG, so what if some player is the best at COD or Halo, we've all had good days where we've finished at the top of the leaderboards and there have been other days when we've been at the bottom, we shouldn't get excited about certain people who will be at the top of their game one day and some other random gamer wipes the floor with them another. |

MLG is a blackmark on gaming society, they're like the black-bloc protesters at last year's G20 Summit in Toronto, destroying public property and being violent public nuisances, every MLG member I've ever gamed with or had on my friendlist on XBL has either been a psychotic egomaniacal asshole or a total teamkilling fucktard. |

We do pay attention to trends in our articles. If we see something isn't meshing with the community or just isn't paid attention to, we will drop that coverage. Similarly, if there are things the community is clamoring for us to cover and we haven't, we'll accommodate those needs as appropriate.
Believe me, we'll be monitoring this thread and any that follow to see if it's a hit or a miss, but as people have called for us to work on similar content in the past, we're going to give it a go. Maybe in the future, there will be ways to narrow what you see, but for now the best way is to not click through. |
