I was planning on getting this game again to get 1250g on it and was wondering how long it would take?

The actual completion itself only takes maybe 7-8 hours, 10 at the most if you turn the difficulty all the way down. But if you enjoy the game and play it to its fullest it will take quite a while.

if you forgot to make a save for one of the achievements in the shivering isles(theres 2 achievements for chosing a side) it could take longer. but turn down the difficulty and this will be very short as the game is mostly sidequests

The main quest line is actually pretty short and can be completed in about 10-12 hours, less if you use fast travel liberally. The faction quests tend to vary in length but none are over 4 hours long. Shivering isles, though I have yet to compete it, looks to be about 8-10 hours long. The trick with this game is to stick to the path because the true length of this game comes from the side-quests, none of which, by the way have achievements associated with them.

Main quest is pretty short and simple with the difficulty slider all the way down, you don't have to do Knights of The Nine, but for The Shivering Isles save before you choose witch person you plan to kill as it will save you a few hours :)

For anyone new to Oblivion, like myself, you don't need a guide beside you. The in game quest markers make it rather easy, along with fast travel.

If you choose to only allow yourself to level once to level 2, as well as turning the difficulty down to 0 you can expect it to take 30-40 hours minimum. It's taken me 55 or so now with getting sidetracked a bit and a few achievements left.

Some notes I've realized to help you get through this a bit easier.

Disclaimer: THIS IS FOR EASY 1250 NOT FOR FULL ENJOYMENT

Do the Mage quest line first. You get a good spell for free and the ability to make a spell to unlock very hard doors.

Avoid becoming a vampire, it's very tedious only being able to move at night and certain quests require you to be outside during the day making being a vampire impossible to complete the tasks and forcing you do the vampire cure quest.

Don't level past level 2 if you want to rush the 1250.

Don't worry about money/items too much as you won't need them. You'll 1 shot almost everything with a low level spell/sneak attacks.

During the choice quest in the shivering Isles to become the duke of Dementia/Mania make separate saves before you choose as you only get to choose one. So choose 1, do the quest then go back and choose the other side.

I chose a wizard and using spells has made my life very easy. Don't need lock picks, don't need healing potions, don't need weapons.

Best of luck.
