We can always rebuild New Detroit
Namco Bandai have released a new trailer for their upcoming, giant-bug squashing, building-demolishing title, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon.
The trailer showcases nothing but sheer destruction. As you can see, nothing stands in the way of the EDF and their devastating Mortars, Grenades, Rocket Launchers and Mechs. Huge bugs, Skyscrapers, Gas Stations and other structures are easily brought down with the explosive arsenal players will be able to use.

Players will be able to either ride solo, or "create a squad of up to three in co-op play using any four upgradeable armor types", to take on the giant insects and aliens threatening earth.
After a recent small delay, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon will be ready for release on July 22nd, 2011. |

| You should probably edit that, because 22nd is UK release, the 5th is US. But, if you look it up on Gamestop.com, it says the 2nd, so now im confused. |

| Insect Armageddon originally came across as a joke, but the game has grown on me recently. I may pick it up at an even cheaper price than what it's at now, though. |

| $40? I'm pretty sure this will be worth the normal full retail for games, but, if you're going to wait, you should pick up EDF 2017, it's only $20 at GameStop. |

Zalsha said:You should probably edit that, because 22nd is UK release, the 5th is US. But, if you look it up on Gamestop.com, it says the 2nd, so now im confused.Way back when the original American release date was announced, it was set for June 28th. It was later pushed back by a week, to July 5th, and has been set as that for a number of months now. There wasn't a reason given for the initial delay, whether it was an issue of printing copies on time or whether they didn't want to compete with any other releases in the same week.
The game actually shipped out to the stores a few days ahead of the street date, as most games do. The publisher contacted them just over 24 hours ago and authorized them to start selling it early (beginning today, July 2nd.) It's a very surprising and uncommon move, but I guess I can't complain. So yes, as of now, the release dates are set as the following (and I'm unsure as to why the disparity):
US: 2nd July UK: 22nd July |
