The Best Buy pre-order ZAP in action
First off, no, the ZAP is not a laser gun. ZAP stands for "zooming automatic pistol" and it is the most accurate short-to-medium range weapon available in the upcoming Call of Juarez: The Cartel. Here's a quick clip demonstrating the amazing capabilities of this weapon:

I walk away from that trailer wondering about two things. One, how can a pistol have the zoom level of a sniper rifle? Two, why are Cartel members shooting at you with two pistols akimbo? Unless they are being played by Chow Yun Fat, in which case it goes from stupid to awesome.
The ZAP is exclusively available as a pre-order from Best Buy
Call of Juarez: The Cartel is due for release July 19th in the US and July 22nd in the UK.

| I'm not sure about the pistol zoom level but the game is technically a modern western which could explain the akimbo cartel shooters. |

Will this be the best pistol since Halo 1?

| Well it really doesn't have that much of a magnification. If you watch the video the scope is zooming in on guys who are about 10 feet away. |

This looks a lot better than the previous titles I have seen, may be worth looking in to. Love that pistol, +1 to smurfs comment on it's the halo 1 pistol but...better.  |

| I'm pretty confused here. When using the hip fire, I notice the gun has some sort of "Red Dot" sight (excuse the Call Of Duty term there) but when zoomed in, the sight becomes something like a 4x zoom sniper scope. Bit crazy if you ask me :S |

They even pack heat here.Really? I have been to California a few times before and I didn't see any gun-toting cowboys. I thought it was only Texas and Alberta that have people that wear cowboy hats :| |
