There has been news that WET 2 was announed in November last year and further news that it was cancelled this May due to a LinkedIn CV which called it a "past project" and "cancelled" on another. I recently checked but the person in question has changed this to "unannounced title" to probably deter further questioning. I took it upon myself to email the developers of WET on the stance of a WET 2, to which they replied, rather vaguely:
"At present, we have no announced plans for a release of a WET sequel. You can find more information about the game at wetthegame.com.
Thank you for playing our games."
*update* A friend of mine also sent them a message, to this response:
"We have made no official announcement of a sequel to Wet. If/when that occurs we will let everyone know."
This doesn't say yes but it doesn't strike me as a definite no either.. I may prod a little further into this issue soon and see what i can find and update upon hearing anything else. (The website looks like it hasen't been touched since the original WET release almost 2 years ago). Also, I intend to write a WET walkthrough soon after the completion of the Ninja Gaiden II walkthrough I'm slowly working away at currently. So any stuck gamers will be glad to hear there will be a helping hand in the near future. |

Personally, it ticked so many boxes for me that a sequel would be very welcome, I mean, if they improved on the good and specifically the bad (lack of character development, graphics, weak melee combat). It's sort of slid past me that it's short, considering it plays more like a movie than a game.. we'll just have to wait and see..

Personally I enjoyed WET, thought it was really good and hammered it all at once when I was playing it.

Just a question, what is your source? I mean, I enjoyed WET, but I really am indifferent as to whether it gets a sequel or not. It's just that at this point we are pretty much just taking your word for it.

It says up at the top, I emailed Bethesda Softworks and Behaviour. Behaviour are yet to reply but I've shown what the response from bethesda said. I've also seen many threads around the net since May and the guy in questions LinkedIn profile. i'm only working from what i have at the moment, any new discoveries will be quickly updated here.

A sequel would be a pre-order for me as I found this to be one of the best games that Bethesda or as I prefer to call them Bugthesda has published. I really enjoyed this game & I hope that they make the sequel better than the original which will be hard as the first game was brilliant I guess that all the sequel would need is some minor tweaks.

I think they might make one but release it when nothing else is coming out. Bethesda is Involved in a lot of games right now (Doom 3 remake). And we've also seen a lot of sequells to games come out much later like Max Payne. Not every company is like Treyarch, a new COD at the same date next year. I just hope they do improve the game for the better though if they do.
