Fans to get first look at Gamescom and PAX
On the heels of Gearbox's big announcement about the (confirmed) existence of Borderlands 2, gamers have been hungrily snatching up any and all details like a Skag who's gone a week without chomping down on a Loot Midget.
Today, Gearbox has shown off the first teaser trailer for the game which features the new character type, "The Gunzerker", who can dual-wield rifles.

If you ask me, 30 seconds is not nearly enough. Fortunately, 2K Games and Gearbox Software agree and are going to be giving gamers a better look at the game at Gamescom 2011 from August 17th – August 21st and at PAX Prime (Booth #3417) from August 26th – August 28th.
Borderlands 2 is still set for a release in FY 13 which starts in April of 2012.

I have been playing video games for over 25 years. My previous all-time, all-format favourites including the usual suspects such as of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, have all been displaced by Borderlands. It is, in my opinion, the greatest game ever made.
A relatively low budget game, a surprise hit due to a perfect recipe. Unique and attractive visual design. Atmospheric score and great voice casting/acting. Great sense of humour. Immense scale. Huge amount and variety of missions. Extraordinarily diverse weapons with randomly generated stats, colour coded by rarity. Incredibly addictive gameplay and xp levelling/skills system. Lots and lots of very generously sized DLC.
I have completed it multiple times, and even now, with 3 Xbox 360 games still in the cellophane, I am addicted to it again, already on playthrough 2, this time on my Mac.
It is almost impossible to imagine that Gearbox and 2K can improve on the first, but if anyone can do it, they can. This is an insta-buy if ever there was one. |

I loved playing Borderlands with my brother, so the sequel better have couch co-op!
And I find the idea of a 'Gunzerker' hilarious - a strong candidate for my character class! |
