Plus two more trailers and two more dev diaries
This week's slate of retail releases includes the new action-RPG X-Men: Destiny. To celebrate today's release, Activision has released a bevy of new trailers, including the official launch trailer.

Also featured are two new gameplay trailers focusing on the warring factions of mutants. This first one is the X-Men perspective.

And this second one is from the Brotherhood of Mutants point of view.

Lastly, there are also two new developer diaries, focusing on two key aspects of the game: Choices, which are heavily emphasized in the game, and X-Genes, which act as your power upgrades.

Considering the precedent of Too Human, I'll wait on this. See how well it does and how it actually looks (and whether it has that stupid right analog crap) and decide from there...

Still on the fence about this. Looks great, maybe I'll rent it first. Nice being able to go with Magneto and the Brotherhood or Cyclops and the X-Men makes ya feel more in depth with the game since inevitably that's what all the mutants have to choose.

My instincts are telling me that this game is going to be crap but at the same time...I'm a huge X-Men fan. Seeing Gambit in the trailers and screens makes me want to get it even more dammit. I'm going to wait for reviews and hope that they are decent. At the very least, maybe it will have an easy achievement list and be worth a pick up down the road.

Don't pay full pop for this.... unless your an X-Men aficionado that is. |

It doesn't look to bad, but the graphics just don't look very good. Will probably wait on this one, but get it eventually

Still cautiously looking forward to it though. |

X-Men Action RPG? Yes, please! Not so pleased with the graphics though, especially after Too Human looked so great.

Looks aren't everything. Glad to see everyone will only enjoy a game if its flashy and shiny. I mean Left 4 Dead 1 wasn't the best looking title but it played really well. Gameplay > Graphics any day of the week.

It's a decent brawler from what I've played so far and no right analog stick for melee fighting, this is standard x and y for attacks.

People have been spoiled with graphics. It is only one out of many categories that make a game good.

Someone uploaded a complete playthrough on youtube. It took about 3-4 hours to finish. No a good sign.

From the looks of it it will be cheaper sooner rather than later. As a fan of the X-Men I will wait till its a lot cheaper then have no problem giving it a go.

I want to be optimistic, but I have to play my nerd-card and say that as a true fan of the 60s-70s-80s...even 90's eras of Marvel-dom.... maybe I don't like this game because it's the post-movie era for all the movie fans, not the core comics fans.... I mean, anybody who knows what the X-Men are about .... you cannot just have some "X-Gene" made up for this game to change your wardrobe a little and inherit powers. That's going a little too far off "the rules". And, I do not want my player character to not even be an X-Man.... and by X-Man, I do not mean "character created by Silicon Knights." Double negatives.

Hmm, so we aren't actually tied to just one ability. Interesting.
