How's everyone doing on obtaining all of those tasty Ribbons that are available in Gears of War 3? I thought it might be a fun idea for everyone to share their Ribbon completion percentage and list any techniques or solutions they've found to obtain those harder to get ribbons, like No Smoking. Keep yourself updated here as you progress.
Ribbon completion percentage: 75%
The "Clutch" Ribbon - Kill 3 or more as the last man standing to win the round.: If you don't have this one yet, I found a fairly simple way of obtaining it. Plug in a second controller and set up a match of Warzone on casual, then fill it with bots. Make sure that you and the second controller are on opposing teams. Start the match and use the second controller to kill all of your primary controller's teammates. This will leave just you facing anywhere from 3-5 enemies, so go inflict death on everyone and win the round. |

If you have any ideas on killing an enemy with a smoke grenade or killing an enemy with a swallowed grenade (Wild Ticker) that would be awesome. |

Well I'm only at 50%..
But for the wild ticker ribbion, the best thing I found to do is play on thrashball. By about round 3-4 i noticed them placing grenades on the opposite end of the map from where you spawn. Go to the right, through the tunnel to the back. Kill barriers in your way as wild ticker. Go up to the grenade on the wall and press X. I'm pretty sure you press A to explode them with the grenade. If the randoms online hadn't of killed the dude I would have had it... TWICE. :P |

I'm at 95% on Ribbons I lack 5 beast ribbons and the horde ribbon for reviving 4 teammates in a wave.
killing with a smoke is not as hard as it sounds just down someone twice and tag with the smoke just before they come out of DBNO. |

I'm now at 85%.
EDIT: 90% 
I got the wild ticker getting a grenade ribbon today. My other theory was wrong. The best way to get it is play until the 4th wave. Keep failing until to you unlock the savage grenadlier class. Once this class is unlocked and you restart the wave. Go as this class. Plant a grenade on the floor by pressing B. Go out and die. Respawn as a wild ticker. Pick up the grenade by pressing X. Now go next to an enemy. Let him shoot you. Make sure you are next to him, so you will blow him up with the grenade and kill him. :D
For the smoke ribbon Robdrinx was pretty much spot on. Except i downed the person twice. And when they had gotten up from the 2nd downing. I tagged them with the smoke. Boom. Dead. |

Those are Event Ribbons, and you can't see them in the Ribbons page, they count towards the Socialite Medal, and that constant (!) bug was there in the Beta, they said they'd fixed it for retail... *sigh*.
I think I'm at 90%, the remaining ones are a pain (getting that Wild Ticker one was a nightmare).
Versus
Clutch, Trick Shot, Oscar Mike, The Super, Unlucky B***ard, Under the Radar
Beast mode (what a pain these ribbons are! Mostly because it keeps starting games with only 4 players, not 5!)
Pop Goes the Weasel, Team Shaman, Team Savior
Horde
Long Hauler (must make time to do this, on Casual), Reconnaissance, I Gotcha
Campaign/Arcade??
Dewormer - I cannot get this f'ing thing, I've tried normal campaign and Arcade, on Casual, Normal, Hardcore and Insane and usually aim for it in the second half of Act 1. Do you need to do all 3 inside one chapter? Seems so... and the darn things don't mutate, or they mutate into the Arms version instead of the head. I'm guessing you also need at least one other player in there (guest) in order to get medals?
Might need to make some sessions as it requires some co-operation from others to get these, unless you wait for blind stinking luck. |

| Oscar Mike is mostly a luck thing. I got it by using the Gnasher shotgun a lot and playing private MP games with lots of bots. Got Unlucky Bastard the same way. You can get Under the Radar by starting a private match with bots and just don't do anything. |

Don't know how you got Unlucky B***ard with a private bot match.
I've tried Under the Radar in private bot match, but it awards Evasive and Tough Guy. |

Under the radar is easy with bots in private. Set to 1 minute, fill with casual bots, on execution. Just get killed in second (otherwise you'll get FIFO). I also usually get those when I don't do anything in CTL when I set up a session for my friend. (again 1 min, fill with casu bots)
For the long hauler, don't forget that Mutators don't void any ribbons/medals. But it still takes a lot of time. I'm pretty sure you need another person/idle controller.
For the dewormer, yes you need to do it in one chapter. Just ask your teammates to let you kill them, and of course hit the lambent's body until the headsnake is separated. It's doable in 1-3 if my memory is correct (when you meet the gunkers), with at least another human/idle controller. |

Since posting, I'm now getting loads of Oscar Mikes, although no The Super unfortunately.
Thanks for the advice, I'll give those a try Fuuldrin, just hope the AI doesn't mess up my chances with the lambents, unless it's something I'll just have to organise with a group of other humans. |
