Price drops on a few marketplace items for Halloween
'Shocktober' returns to Xbox LIVE, with the spotlight on Halloween and all things terrifying.
While you may have already caught this on your dashboard when the event went live a few days ago, we got a quick rundown of the deals, clarifying exactly what's on sale as opposed to just being "featured".
Price Drops
XBLA Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - 1200 MSP 600 MSP Zombie Apocalypse - 800 MSP 400 MSP
Games on Demand Metro 2033 - $29.99 $22.49 *Check your dashboard for price in your region
Other items are featured on the dashboard, like Black Ops map packs, but these are not on sale and are just featured items for the 'Shocktober' event. You can check out the rest of the featured items on your dashboard or in the external link below.
These deals will run until October 31st. Check back October 25th for Week 2 deals.

| Has it been confirmed if different items will go on sale next week? The way this was worded by Major Nelson made it seem as if this was week 1 of 2. It does seem like certain items belonging in this collection are missing, like Left 4 Dead, etc. |

| As others have said, the L4D2 DLC would be most welcome, and fitting for the horror theme. |

Plus the price is way too high. 15 bucks? Really? And before any CoD haters bring it up, yeah, I think those 15 dollar maps packs are too highly priced as well. But people pay for them.
I did love the single player though. Beating it on the hardest difficultly was one of the hardest achievements I've ever gotten.
Something tells me the DLC will never go down in price though. They should just make it free at this point, since no one plays it. And the only people who would even think about buying it are achievement boosters like us. |

Stroywise and gameplay though i loved Stranglehold, a truly fast paced action packed game
As for the DLC....... it's never been on sale, and despite getting 1000 on the game i'm not going to be blackmailed in to getting this DLC even though its easy to get the remaining G's to 1250 the game. |

Once again, Zombie Apocalypse on sale.
Metro 2033 is a love it/hate it game (personally, I enjoyed it, and may even save my second playthru for Halloween) but you can buy it retail for less and even cheaper used.
I'm guessing the majority of this stuff is just 'featured', instead of discounted. Shame, I would have picked up the L4D(1) DLC. Wasn't the new L4D2 DLC (Cold Stream) meant to be released over Halloween too? |

Was hoping RE5 DLC would be reduced as part of the Shocktober deals.

I'm assuming they do as they obviously get a cut of sales.
Might be worth a few emails to Midway if they have a customer support mailbox or similar. |

Just had a look and according to Wikipedia, Midway went under.
Not sure where that leaves us with a DLC discount! |

| Are we sure these deals last until the 31st? The URL for the games section of Shocktober first clearly lists them as Week One. I think there's a chance we could get new deals next week. |
