The game, not just the character model
Sega appears to be striking all the right chords with their upcoming Sonic Generations. We know already that we'll be seeing reimaginings of the franchise's Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and Modern Eras, but what about actually playing a classic game from that time? It's not that it's hard to boot up those good ol' XBLA titles (certainly more convenient than dragging out your retired Genesis/Master System), but wouldn't it be much more convenient if one of them, say, Sonic The Hedgehog (Arcade), was actually available in Sonic Generations itself?
Takashi Iizuka, who is producing the game, revealed during Paris Games week that the original Sonic the Hedgehog will be an unlockable title in Generations. Details as to how to unlock that game are not available at this point, but it's nice to know it's in there, isn't it?
Sonic Generations will be available November 1st in the US, November 3rd in Australia and November 4th in Europe. The limited edition of the game will only be available to those in Europe or Australia. Don't forget that you can try out the game's second demo, which has classic or modern Sonic speeding around the original title's Green Hill Zone, right here.

I was gonna send in a story I found floating around somewhere but this seems to be it.
Some hackers apparently found some information inside the demo that contained info on an emulator inside the game that's going to house a few of the Sonic oldies. |

| Nice! |
Achieving is something that everyone has to do at some point in life. Does it matter what? |

If it included Sonic 2 that would be awesome, I think it' the second best Sonic game next to Adventure 2 battle(which needs to come to the arcade ASAP) Shame I thought the 3D Sonic section in the new demo was awful, I'll wait until it's much cheaper before I think about buying it. |

| Even though I already have pretty much every one of the old Sonic's on the Arcade this is still an epic move on Sega's part. Glad to see them rewarding their loyal community. Hope it's unlocked in a cool way, and there's an achievement for it or something! |

| Can Sega just let this old fossil of a game rest. Sonic was great back in the day, it's been milked to death now. |

On topic, I've already got the original Sonic game on the XBLA, but it's a nice bonus for people who don't! This is looking good. |

| It'd be nice if the save crossed with the XBLA versions but I doubt it will |

Nice addition but I already have the old Sega Megadrive Sonic games on the Xbox 360 because I've got the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection game :)
Looking forward to getting this next week though, had it pre-ordered for a few weeks now. |

| I think that's a pretty poor extra. Giving away a DVD of some of the old cartoons would be better, anything's better than giving away a game all your hardcore fans already own 3 versions of...I mean... seriously? |

Which reminds me, I need to get around to the last couple achievements in Sonic 1 and 2. Blasted time-based playthroughs... |

| If SEGA wanted me to buy it they would have made the CE available in the states. |
