I've had 10+ headshots in at least 4 campaign missions and I just got 11 headshots in a Lone Wolves match and this achievement still hasn't popped.
Out of curiosity I checked the Gamer card of one of the other players in my last match - he got 18 headshots in the match and he didn't have the achievement either.
Does anyone know if this is a known problem, and if there is anything I can do about it? |

I haven't heard anyone complain before. Can't vouch for this personally, but one of the guides claims that grunts don't count. Maybe that could be the problem? Another thing worth mentioning is they must be headshot KILLS, just hitting the target isn't enough (you have to get the medal). I would definitely focus on getting this in the campaign. | Grunts do count... I got this cheevo last week but went back to double-check it on a different ID... just got it again and the last kill was a Grunt. Try right at the start of The Ark in Campaign... maybe with the Birthday Party skull on to help you figure out what's happening. |

it is buggy, i myself dont have it when i should and one of my friends who has completed almost every other cheev in the game ahs tried for hours tog et it with no luck.
im not sure what triggers it but it certainly appears like once its broken, its permanently broken |

I would just keep soldiering on with it in campaign with the scoring turned on so you can tell when you get a headshot kill, and have the difficulty on Easy so you can focus solely on killing with headshots.

I thought Halo cheevs don't unlock on easy?
Anyway I did 2 more missions yesterday, with scoring on so the little purple icon pops up for a headshot - on both missions I stopped counting cos I was way past 10, including more enemies than just grunts. I guess i'll just have to accept that this one's not going to happen. |

How do I do that? I might try it.
From googling fairly extensively, there are all sorts of different opinions on why it's not popping, but the most likely seems to be that since either the 1.1 or 1.2 update, the kills must be with a sniper rifle (or possibly the Beam rifle) but not a BR or pistol, even though they count as headshots in the stats. I'll be trying this later.
I'm also going to try on one my family's profiles, that haven't started the game yet, see if they have any luck. |

Thanks all for your help, got it last night.
Using only a sniper rifle worked. Stupid inaccurate achievement descriptions... and out of date solutions...grrr |
