I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
I don't believe in competition being watered down to help those behind catch up.
You do make some great points and if the competition is legitimately in the spirit of just meeting new people then great, but the rules led me to believe otherwise. |
It's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. |

Unfortunately there is an inherent problem with gamerscore competitions in that the top teams are ALWAYS the ones that are the most dedicated to getting the points. Even if you mess with the rules that won't change.
90%+ of the teams entering have no chance to win. No matter what you do to the rules, the winning team will still be the one that is able and willing to make gaming a higher priority in their lives than the other teams. |

Oh well, if there's ever a one person team challenge, i'd join in a heartbeat. Sometimes i can be offline for 3 or so weeks in a row, when trying to platinum some game, in vacation or when life is just too eventful. Can't commit to a team and then take february off, that would not be nice.
How about that? Monthly challenges, individual entrants? Pretty much in the vein of 360voice challenges? Make it happen TA! |

We've received a lot of great applications for the 2012 GTASC, however we haven't quite reached the 100 teams we planned to have to make 2-team eliminations every week for the length of the contest. Because of this we've decided to extend the application deadline. Applications will continue to be accepted until Monday, Nov 21st. If we still have not received 100 team applications by this date, we'll extend signups for one more week; until Nov 28th.
If after two extension periods we can't place 100 teams, we'll be dropping the number of teams accepted into the contest. That number will be based on the total number of confirmed team applications. Should we start the contest with less than 100 teams, we'll start with removing only one team per week until such time that removing two teams per week makes mathematical sense to end the contest on the proper week. |

That page shows all the players in an html table. As each confirms it changes to "CONFIRMED". So once all 5 say that, you are "done" until the team draws. |

We reached OVER 100 teams registered by the end-of-day original deadline. The extended sign-up period will continue to run (since it was already announced). However since we reached over 100 teams signed up by the original deadline (regardless of how many people sign up in the extended period) there will be some teams from the original 100 who will not make it in to the contest.
Personally I'd like to (as public opinion seems to desire) favor the teams that were signed up before the original deadline for the first random draw. As we get those teams signed up to the TA leaderboard, if we have a problem with getting any team on the leaderboard, I think we should randomly pick from the remaining teams (regardless of their application date). This gives teams that were good about signing up a more favorable stance in the original draw, but evens everyone out for any replacement draw (should we even need it). |
