End the debate
With the 2011 NBA Lockout looking like it is finally about to end, the timing of the new DLC for NBA 2K12 could not be more appropriate. Three days after players and owners reached a tentative agreement with ratification looking like a formality, the "Legends Showcase" DLC adds over 150 NBA legends to the game for players to use in a wide variety of gametypes. The DLC also adds nine new achievements worth a total of 250G.
Enhance your NBA 2K12 experience with the all-new “Legends Showcase” add-on content pack. Legends Showcase delivers hours of additional gameplay, allowing users to END THE DEBATE as to who is the best player ever. Set in an stylized version of Times Square, Legends Showcase allows players to select from over 150 legends to compete in 2v2 and 3v3 Challenges, H-O-R-S-E, Pick-Up games, and more.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLqTMEBOZmw
The "Legends Showcase" DLC costs 800 MSP and can be downloaded from here. |

| I have NBA Live 10. I enjoy it from time to time. To me Sports games seem over priced as it is, to start buying additional DLC for them seems like a waste of money. However, I'm sure the diehard fan would appreciate it. |
Sometimes It's not the solution that sucks... |

| The H O R S E mode could be interesting. Will probably wait for a knock down on the price though. |

| Casper, I finally ordered my copy once the lockout ended. I was worried about the NBA today achievement. I may get the DLC later since it does not require online play. |

So they're charging for dlc for players that you can download for free through 2kshare from others?
The only new thing would be the setting in Times Square. |

Any word on when/if they are gonna release a patch to unlock the rookies? I never bought the game because I wasn't gonna pay for an incomplete game. |

This DLC looks utterly lame. No buy.
As for the game itself - my understanding is that there will be roster updates once the season actually starts at Christmas. That'll be nice. |

| ^ Incomplete game?? As far as it goes now, there are no rookies. The game is complete and rookies will be added when they're actually on teams. I got this dlc today and love it, picked up the game day one and love it. Me personally, I feel like this DLC is very much worth it so far. |

Yes, incomplete. The main reason to upgrade to the next version is because it adds the new rookies. No rookies, no reason to buy. They should have held off on releasing it until they knew for sure what was going on. I'm sure there sales have suffered as a result. Not saying it's a bad game, I will probably get it when it's actually complete and fully functional.
Besides I still gotta finish the brilliant Jordan Challenge mode from 2K11! |

Besides I still gotta finish the brilliant Jordan Challenge mode from 2K11!Wait... I thought the reason to purchase was all the gameplay improvements, new changes to modes the ability to play as 15 legends and unlock the teams that played in those special game. Not just a draft class. If just a set of players that will most likely not even be good makes a game complete and fully functional then all i can say is damn (even with it being the highest rated 2K Basketball game ever and already the most profitable)
And also why would they hold off until they knew what was going on? If there was no season then i guarantee that 2K would lose tens of millions in lost revenue. So release it on time, hope for the best and just make the best product possible under the circumstance |

Love seeing all the hate for this game. 2K knew the lockout was a real possibility and countered by adding many Legendary teams and players. As a basketball fan, it is really hard to see how you could hate this game.
And unlike EA sports' games, 2K actually changes enough gameplay every year to justify purchasing a new game.
But, I have a feeling the people complaining haven't played 2K12, so they wouldn't know.
/end rant |

As a basketball fan, this is a great game to play. 2K11 was something very special and hard to live up to - but 2K12 is another good installment. |
