Well I'm currently making my way through HL2 Episode 2, in the hope of sending Terrance - the gnome - into space.

The Orange Box Little Rocket Man The Little Rocket Man achievement in The Orange Box worth 84 pointsSend the garden gnome into space.

Am I bordering on insanity? Have I been over-doing it on The Orange Box? Or did other people name this little companion?

I didn't name him, but I would yell at my TV "Stay in the F%$#@ng car you little bastard". It wasn't as hard as I expected it to be though.

I named him Chomsky, after possibly the most irritating person alive - it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling when I blasted the little bastard into space.

The jury is still out as to whether Noam or Gnome Chomsky is the more annoying of the two.

I did this on my old tag - only advice I can give is make sure that when you put him down somewhere to have a fight, it's place you can get back to afterwards. Oh and shut the door behind him when you put him in the rocket - I didn't and thought the achievement was borked - the language that I produced has seldom been heard before or since...

oh, and he has a habit of falling out of the car when you go over bumps and retracing your steps to find him is great fun (not!) laugh

Gnome Chompski is most likely his name. He made an appearance in L4D2, he was a "weapon" that you had to hold the entire way through one level. Pain in the butt.

I just think of him as the most annoying thing on the face of the planet. I gave up on that achievment because it autosaved me with 6 health left with the helicopter right above me and if i got out to get him, I would die shortly thereafter.

I generally refer to him as the gnome or chompsky, but my favourite is "The Burden" because whoever drew the short straw (in L4D2) had the burden of carrying him throughtout the campaign. The new mutation, Last Gnome on Earth, forces you to carry him arround.

I named him jimmy. We had some great memories, like him falling out of the car, rolling down a hill, sent flying when an explosion went off near him. Good times.

I was very sad when I stuffed him in that tiny space in that ship and cried when the ship took off. I miss him already. :(

I believe that's his official name given by Valve.
My friend and I just called him Gnomey while we pushed though the horde in L4D2.

I named my gnome Gordon. It wasn't until I came to put him in the rocket I realised the reason I thought of that name. It's a name I'd been hearing a lot lately, especially during my playthroughs of HL2 & HL2:E1.
*facepalm*
