| I’ve been using the gamertag “CRiMZoN” for about 6 years now. Not the gamertag I’m using now but over six years different variations of the word “CRiMZoN” examples…. oOCRiMZoNOo and xCRiMZoNx. When I first used this gamertag back in my original xbox gaming days I hardly ever saw it. As time goes by I’ve been seeing so many “Crimsons and Crimzons” and it doesn’t feel as cool as it used to. I’ve been thinking of changing my gamertag but it has a lot of sentimental value to me now I’m not really sure if I want to change it. What do you guys think…what makes a gamertag original. How long you’ve had it, something that not a lot of people have, or just sentimental value? |

My Old one used to be HENDO259.
My nickname from school and a random set of numbers, it was actually a few lads on here who helped me come up with my current tag.
As I am Viking hereditary (Fathers Side), not sure how we got onto that but it just came out of casual chat! But i would like to think its pretty singular to me but who knows |

| Haven't seen any variation of mine on Live, and it takes some people a minute to realize what it means. Of course due to XBox Live Code of Conduct, I couldn't use Unfuckingbelievable cause it has "fuck" in the middle and that's a no no. So I remembered a bumper sticker I once saw that had it abbreviated and made it into my GT. Though when I think back, I probably should have capitalized the first letter of each syllable, but then it would look like UnFcNBLeeVibL, and i'm not fond of that. |

| I don't think my GT has much originality, but I like it, and that's what matters when you create your GT. It's special to you. |

| My gamertag is completely unoriginal, I stole it form some machinima I used to like. I'm really wanting to change it. |

| You know I won't claim originality but I changed to my current name when I made the switch to 360. I was having such a hard time coming up with something new and my number one goal was to not have numbers added on to the end of my name or the "X's" at the front and back or any of those things. I don't have a problem with it, just a personal preference. Anyway finally I came up with "All Time" and just figured WTH why not try Best and obviously it wasn't taken so I went with it. |

I think not having Xx's & Oo's in it would help. Also probably making it more than one word. Theres a big chance people will want to use the same word as you, hence gamertags like this always have Xx's...
I picked my GT by:
Favorite game...Resident Evil series. Game playing atm...Metal Slug 3
Booyah = ResidentSlug.

| I like the first name last name format and you know it's original if there are no variations used. My alternative gamer tag which i like more than this (but i can't change too since i made another live account with it) is Shanks McShasty |

| Mine is completely useless. It's the username I had at uni, so when I had to pick a gt I thought I'd go with that as it would be easy to remember. |

| Well i was 15 and learning to drive and backed of of the driveway when my mom came out screaming at me. I had no idea what happened. She runs up to me screaming saying the cats dead, the cats dead, and well you can guess what I did. But from that day on my dad has called me Killer Kevin I just shortened it a little and added my favorite number on the end. Had it for about 5 years and it won't change. Kind of a family heirloom now. |

I've been using this name since my Diablo 2 days.
I needed a name for Diablo 2 and I just mish-mashed a bunch of different letter combinations from the pronunciation guide in my copy of The Silmarillion. |

| Nickname dating back to 5th grade (Senior in HS now). How many times have you seen a Smeds? I've never seen another Smeds on LIVE, and as far as I know, the only other Smeds in existence is a European artist or the acronym for St. Mary's Episcopal Day School. |
I'm entitled to my opinion. |

| My gamertag was never meant to be used, actually. I created this account to connect to xbox live just long enough to download the divx/xvid media update, my account at the time was unpaid for and i only played with it offline. Then I got some friends to play the game "culdcept Saga", and I wanted to play fresh, but not lose my progress. So i started playing with them on the "connectmeplease" account. Then, a year or so later, when I wanted to play a friend online, I started using this account. I kept meaning to change the name, but 10 bucks for it seemed silly, and now ive grown attached to the name. |

Every gamertag is original in that you cannot have the same arrangement of letters and numbers twice but at the same time any gamertag featuring numbers in the place of letters is so far from original it hurts. Putting noughts and crosses (or circles and kisses) as both suffix and prefix is also not original.
My gamertag is not original in that it is my name but I get several friend requests a week from people also called Cormac and people who think I am the Cormac they know. With so many other Cormacs out there I think I can claim a degree of originality. Imagine having the gamertag John or Dave with no numbers after it and that is where we're at.
Edit: I've had it since the old Xbox and will not be changing it. People who change their gamertag for actual money are fools. |

| After making this post a few months back I’ve had time to dwell on my gamertag. I’ve had it for so long and I couldn’t make myself change it. Now with thought it doesn’t matter if your gamertag is “original” or not. The important thing is that you like your gamertag regardless of what it is. After having this gamertag for so many years now xCRiMZoNx will remain my XBL identity for as long as I’m still playing XBOX. |

| My gamertag is my last name...so I guess it is kind of original. It's the first thing I tried when I created my account and I was very surprised to see it wasn't taken by one of my cousins who also game a lot. Not a very common last name but not too common either. I'm used to people calling me "Beachem" in real life and not Dustin so I thought it would be nice to hear my friends on live call me the same thing that my friends in real life do. |
