Plus details on Quick Match and Legendary Souls modes
Fans of the SoulCalibur saga will be pleased at this bit of news coming from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Two characters from past titles are set to make a return in SoulCalibur V. Concept art showcases Algol from SoulCalibur IV, and Edgemaster, originally from SoulCalibur.

Both of these characters have been confirmed as playable, so you should be able to get your hands on the pair when the game releases next month.
Famitsu also detailed some new game modes as well. There's a Quick Match mode, which plays just about like it sounds. This mode allows for quick fights, with special appearances by non-playable characters designed in a contest over the summer. The characters were made using the create-a-fighter tools, and can only be found as CPU opponents in this mode.
There will also be a mode known as Legendary Souls. This will function much like a 'boss rush' game type, with your opponents getting progressively harder and harder. Not much else is known about Legendary Souls, but perhaps Algol and Edgemaster will make an appearance here as well.

Namco is fudging on the latest Ridge Racer and Ace Combat (in my opinion)
So... this Soul Calibur 5 looking similar enough to 4 isn't necessarily a bad thing. I will play this when it hits the mid-range $30-40 price point. |

Wait, Algol is confirmed now?
I will pay any sum of money for this game if there's a ToLS map where I can point and laugh while Algol repeatedly rings himself out. |

| Not too bothered about Algol, but having Edge Master back is a great bonus. Can't wait for this. Hopefully they'll bring back a few more classics. Li Long > Maxi. |

Too bad really, but at least there is one now right?
Anyway, it's nice to see both return especially considering Edge Master has been out of the mix for a while. Algol lost his clothes and his weapons? What's the man got left? Then again it looks like he's still got some power ... Really wish this game had a story that made sense. |
