Have a look at some of the arenas
Illfonic's Nexuiz is soon to be one of four titles included in this February's House Party promotion on Xbox LIVE. The first-person arena shooter has been re-made with the Crytek 3 engine specifically for consoles. Featuring a mutator system, players can change the rules of the game. Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag will be the two game modes included in the game at launch.
Players will take on the roles of either the Kavussari or the Forsellians. The two races have been at war for many centuries, but they entered into treaties with the Herald Accord who oversees peace and unity between different cultures across the galaxy. The seething hatred between the two races never disappeared though, and new members of each race threatened to spread war across the galaxy once again. The Kavussari and Forsellians were given a choice: face total annihilation, or pit your warriors against each other in a specially-made arena. The Nexuiz, a series of battle arenas across the planets of Kavussari, Forsellian and Atavirta, was born.
Here are the latest screenshots for the title showcasing some of the arenas with which players will undoubtedly become familiar:

Illfonic has promised that new game modes, models, and maps will be released as DLC after the game has been released. Further details on these are not available.
The exact release date for Nexuiz is currently unknown. The House Party promotion begins on February 15th, but the order of the games has not been confirmed. |

As long as its not overpriced im happy with people supporting their products. I just wish more devs would go the path that Valve takes and vow to never make a dime off of DLC... it should just be there to support your product not make money off of. |

Tons of Completions, Not Worth Listing, Compare Games |

In the case of this, though, their confirmation of DLC is a very good thing. It means they will continue to create new maps and game types, as in stuff that wasn't actually created yet when the game launched. With how much of a community-centric game this is supposed to be, that's nothing but good news.
Mind you, unlike a Steam game, they won't be able to put out new patches every week (or any free DLC, sadly.) But at the same time, I have faith they'll try and keep this game fresh. They don't want the community to go the way of Quake Arena for 360 (which still saddens me, as I really liked it.) |

Now I admit there have been cases where DLC was cut out of the main game, but GOOD DLC takes time to make, time to plan. And there is always going to be a period of time between when a game is done, and actually starts being sold, which is a perfect time to start producing your DLC. That means you need to start planning to make that DLC, or at least conceptualize it, before the game is done, to maximize a companies time. |
