Five maps, four character skins, and the return of Guardian mode

The Gears of War Twitter account just announced that the "Forces of Nature" DLC will also bring back the popular Guardian mode.
ORIGINAL STORY
It's time for another dose of that sweet, sweet Gears of War 3 DLC. Rod Fergusson (@GearsViking) took to GT.TV to announce "Forces of Nature", the fourth batch of DLC for Epic's epic shooter and the 2011 "Best Shooter" winner as awarded by our TA community.
"Forces of Nature" is set to include three brand new maps and two remakes.

Aftermath is a government park after a tsunami. There is seaweed and wreckage everywhere, and the main play space sits under a huge cargo ship which was deposited on top of a building during the storm. The area floods and quakes during gameplay, as the whole thing is teetering on the edge of falling into the water below. This has gameplay implications as it is difficult to aim during the quakes, and difficult to be stealthy while splashing through the water.ARTILLERY

Artillery starts out looking like an ordinary military base, but during gameplay a storm kicks up. Lightning begins to flash on the horizon and eventually a tornado develops and sweeps near the play space. Dust and debris are kicked up making it difficult to see, and the buffeting winds can mask your approach.COVE

Cove is a small port that the Stranded have taken over and turned into a little village. The map is very open with long lines of sight, but there is a really, really heavy layer of fog that masks just about everything. There’s a really nice sniper nest inside a central ship, but the sniper’s form is silhouetted by the low angle light shining through the fog.JACINTO

Jacinto was a beautiful city, but huge stalks have popped up through the buildings and flooded the entire area with imulsion. Half of the map is dead and crumbling, with imulsion fumes hanging in the air. To make matters worse, the drizzle that is present when a match begins quickly develops into a heavy rain storm that impedes visibility and lines of sight as water starts sheeting off the buildings.RAVEN DOWN

Raven Down is a very small crossroads that is blanketed in a blinding snow storm. A Raven helicopter has crashed in the storm, and crashed through an elevated train on its way down, so there’s train wreckage to deal with as well. The snowstorm ebbs occasionally, but is more often so heavy that it’s difficult to see more than a few meters ahead at any given time."Forces of Nature" is set to include some new character and weapon skins.

The big grab in the character skins is the "Savage Hunter" which is brand new. The other skins were available as preorder bonuses from various retailers. There will be 5 new weapon skins for immediate use, and 2 additional weapon skins that can only be unlocked by hitting gameplay milestones on the "Forces of Nature" maps.
Finally, Fergusson also mentioned that the new maps will have some special, hidden weapons called, "Elemental Cleavers" which will have achievements tied to them.
The "Forces of Nature" map pack for Gears of War 3 is set to hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on March 27th. Gamers who purchased the "Season Pass" will get it for free. Individual pricing for this map pack has not been released at this time, but, if it holds true to the other map packs, you can expect it to run around 800 MSP.

| This looks gd but was hoping for sum beast content. Hidden easter eggs seems like a gd idea reminds me of the skulls in the halo 3 mythic maps |

| I love Gears, and I love what they are doing to add to the value...but think about how many DLC packs have come out and how long the game has been out............too much, too soon. |

according to the gears community website guardian is coming back.
"We listen closely to your suggestions and feedback and we’re happy to announce that the game mode Guardian will be making a return with the “Forces of Nature” DLC."
i would have preferred beast content as opposed to more multiplayer stuff. |

Already have Commando Dom, there goes my limited exclusivity. But that artillery map reminds me of Avalanche in its concept.
Not as impressed by this as I was for RAAM's shadow though. But, I got the season pass, so this one's technically free. |

Please let their be an achievement for re-upping a 3rd time and one for getting to 100 the 4th time or even adding in more prestige levels.
And can I get more achievements like Foreshadowing. Cause it wasn't such a pain in the ass to try and do it legit since no one plays as Minh.

Achievements tied to elemental cleavers huh.....I can see it now, the achievement will be something like "kill 6000 enemies in standard/ranked versus (private matches don't count) with an elemental cleaver." |

| the total package, why i could'nt care less about even more weapon skins they got some nice char skins in there and some cool/new maps as well. thanks for bringing back Raven Down & Jacinto EPIC, but on top of that my favorite mode from Gears 2: GUARDIAN luv it! so this is going to be awesome plus worth the money (even if you don't got the season pass) |
