Who else but... Confused Shelf.
Hey all. Welcome to my Mass Effect 3 walkthrough. I will be making regular updates in both my blog and in this thread so you can keep of progress. I hope to make this walkthrough the crown jewel amongst not just my own walkthroughs, but all on the site. Hopefully I can achieve this goal and it can be the most complete guide available.
Here is my plan.
I have three characters ready for Mass Effect 3.
Engineer, Paragon, Male
Adept, Paragon, Female
Soldier, Renegade, Male
These three characters cover all the extremes of the game. The six class system has three distinct corners with the other three classes (Sentinel, Infiltrator, Vanguard) between those points. Obviously I want to include romances for both female and male Shepards and other subtle differences so that needed to be covered. Perhaps most important is the renegade and paragon characters. Most of the conversation choices are superficial but the really interesting part will be in the repercussions from previous games. These three have been taken through in the same fashion so paragon and renegade choices should have an influence.
Unlike my previous walkthroughs, this will include self made videos. I hope these will become the most complete on the internet as I record all three of my playthroughs and then edit them together to show different strategies for the major confrontations using each of the three extreme classes. With just one playthrough recorded you can't show all the previous choices coming back to haunt or help you and hopefully the merging of all three characters should fix this problem.
I welcome any advice anyone has for features to include, exclude or improve in my walkthrough.
I will begin as soon as I'm finished ME2 with my renegade character. Should be done by the end of the week.

| Finished Earth and Mars with first two characters. Just reached Mars with my third (renegade) Shepard. After completing this mission tonight I will write my blog on my thoughts and progress as well as starting work on the video portion of this walkthrough. |

| Having a little trouble editing the videos I've recorded. Sony Vegas is only showing me the top left of the screen in the preview making them near impossible to trim and edit. The only solution I've come across is to open them in Windows Movie Maker (which takes forever for it to prepare) and then resave the file as something else. Once this has done I will take a note of what I saved it as and resave them all to the same to see if I can skip out the Movie Maker step. Sigh. Never had this problem with it before. |

| I've opted to not include speaking in my video walkthrough. I think the text accompanying it should be more than sufficient. Would you agree? Either way, uploading the first part now. Can re-upload if need be. |

| Managed to sort out the problem regarding Vegas preview only showing the corner. Was recording in MP4 which seemed logical to me but that's not what Vegas wants. Now I'm using TS (whatever that is) and it works fine. Too bad I've still got to go through the rest of Earth and Mars using Movie Maker to convert the files which adds hours to the time. |

So after ages of trying to get Vegas to upload, I discovered it's a problem with the first part of the walkthrough and I've been able to upload the other parts I've done no problem. To prevent me from having to edit together the first part again I've saved the file to my harddrive and uploaded through Movie Maker (which has taken 3+ hours). Let me know what you think of the earth walkthrough.

| All Mars videos are up. Working on Citadel now. Then Eden Prime and Palavan to do before I catch up. Using my gaming time to work on another walkthrough. |

No problem. First Citadel videos are up. I recommend watching Part 10 of the guide. It's interesting to see the differences in dialogue between the new council and the old one because I've got them running side by side.

| Once this video is finished uploading, I'll be up to date with my videos and will finally be able to continue playing the game. Just about to complete Grissom Academy as a renegade. Already done as paragon and femshep. Then it's off to Sur'Kesh. |

Been a long time since I updated this thread. The walkthrough is now firmly back underway. Been flying through missions lately. Done Sanctum, Eden Prime and Menae in the last four days as well as all the in between stuff. Now I'm editing all the videos together and rendering them out, ready for upload. Have discovered the college internet, with ridiculous upload speeds, is a great place to save all my clips for rather than lose hours to uploading at home. Once this current clip is done I wonder if I can finish Grissom in one more 20 minute video rather than two 15 minute ones but I don't suppose it matters. Then a little galaxy clean up before Sur'Kesh.
That's the plan at least. I'l try to keep you updated. |
