| I think its a terrible idea. And it also just gives developers yet another excuse to charge 1200 MSP or probably more for some crappy XBLA game that took them a week to make. |

| Pretty soon we're gonna be paying $60 for a game that you have to buy DLC to finish. |

| Hmmm... if old games converted, I'd have like 30 arcade games with double that gamerscore. Sweeeet. |

| I remember when back in the day DLC was cheap but you got a lot for it and it was normally something worth while whilst now DLC tends to just mean 4 maps for 1200 msp. |

| I think it's a good thing for titles that can actually rival a retail release, as they can be more creative with their achievements. On the other hand, I wonder how this will affect classic re-releases, where there's not many things to tag as an achievement to begin with? |

I like it if true, but my first thought is... April 1st huh?
While we're starting rumors, I predict games for the next XBox will all ship with 2000GS on disc in an effort to convert people to the new console quicker. |

| Does this idea of going to all digital media scare anyone else? With rumors of the new xbox not even having a cd/dvd-rom meaning only USB or digital media, and all the crazy shit going on with DLC, I'm getting really worried about what the gaming world is turning into. Am I the only one? |

| Ugh, they were doing it right with games that had a lot of achievements, like The Orange Box. More achievements is more fun and more of a chance to explore the game. Limiting the score is one thing, but the number of achievements? Why cap replayability? I wish they would throw back to this. Huge retail titles that get converted to Arcade titles (like Sonic Adventure DX or RE4, for example) could easily have had a whole slew of achievements, but didn't because of a silly cap. |

| Don't care for these odd numbers. Arcade should max at 500, but that's just me. |

| Temporarily indifferent. I like good arcade games. If anything, short length or leaning more towards a pick up and play style makes it more likely for me to play them them when time is short. I do like achievements, but more achievements won't make me more likely to play. If anything, this could lead to more bad achievements. While fun or clever achievements can add to a game, grinds or luck-based ones can also subtract fun - especially grinds. |

This is just another step on the wrong direction. It will be funny, having an easy souless arcade with fancy 3D graphics at 1600 points with 3 DLCs of 400 points each (for a gran total of 2800 points) with 800 achievement points, yet a hard game done in 2D retain its 200 points. Gamerscore will end up being even less substantial than now.
Next thing will be granting you 200 achievement points for each 20$ you pay, without playing. And then the cow will be so dead there won´t be any more milk or meat in it. I really hate what XBLA is now, it´s just retail lite. When it launched, for about 4-5 years, it was a fucking different place, with a different market in mind, and with great quality nearly every week regardless of the graphics.
I remember fondly the days where I picked some great games every month at great price. Now it´s nearly always "I will wait to the DotW", "oh, look, another crap game with fancy graphics at 1200 points", etc. |

| Not to be a smart ass Leo but 400 is an even number not odd, but i do agree 500 would b good, sort of like half a retail game, as long as the prices dont go up should be good |

| Finally arcade games have become too complex and sometimes hard to distinguish from retail titles it is only fair they finally get a gamerscore increase. This should help the problem of developers putting all hard achievements in their arcade games because you can only have a few achievements I hate having arcade gamers on my card with 5 and 10 gamerscore. To all you people saying that now this is going to give game developers an excuse to charge more for their games that is absolutely stupid because most gamers don't give a shit enough about them to pay more for extra achievements. People who purchase their games based on achievements are less than 1% of xbox gamers. |

As for the increase: I could really care less. If the game is good, I will buy it and hunt down those achievements. If the game sucks, I won't buy it. I've played my share of crappy games for points and some of them still haunt me. |

Alchemist Don said:M$ trying hard to make us go fully digital when that happens i quit gaming.Yeah.... this is a 'getting they're hands deeper into my pockets so they can play with me' situation. Just another way to screw us.
I'll point to day 1 DLC with achievements as an example. "...really? , it couldn't have just been included in the original game?" They should just charge us $80 off the bat and stop dicking with us.
...so now they'll have more opportunities to throw second-rate DLC at us.
Great! |

| This is purely a good excuse to charge more money for arcade games with nothing extra added to the game content itself apart from cramming more achievements in. |
