Update: We now have the official trailer to share with you, which confirms that ALL of these games will have 400G.

Original Story: Sure, we've seen Microsoft run XBLA promotions before, such as "House Party" and "Summer of Arcade", so why not add another to the mix?
Today, Microsoft revealed their "Arcade NEXT" promotion, which is set to feature some of the most hotly anticipated games to come to the service. We have all the details now for you, including what games are coming out when and how many MSP they'll set you back.
Trials Evolution - April 18th - 1200 MSP "Trials Evolution" is on every front, the next dimension of the smash-hit, award-winning "Trials HD." Bust out of the warehouse into an outdoor world of night and day, curved driving lines, and spectacular scenery. Multiplayer comes alive in your living room or on Xbox LIVE. Build your own tracks with the in-game editor or download those of any other player from the new Track Central. Customize your bike and rider with awesome gear and unique parts, enjoy innovative skill games, try ghost racing, beat your friends' scores and more! Don't miss the madness!Bloodforge - April 25th - 1200 MSP With a brutal combat system, stunning art style, and a deeply compelling story, "Bloodforge" empowers you to slaughter hordes of demonic soldiers, deformed worshippers, and the gods themselves, using ferocious Rage Kills, devastating Rune attacks, and furious Weapon Combos. Help seal Crom's fate - and the fate of the rest of the world - in this dark, visceral story of revenge, betrayal, and destiny.Fable Heroes - May 2nd - 800 MSP "Fable Heroes" is an action-packed, hack-and-slash adventure built for Xbox LIVE Arcade. It delivers a fresh spin on the "Fable" franchise with a unique art style and gameplay that takes playful competition to the next level. Whether on the couch or using Xbox LIVE, up to four players work together to defeat enemies while also competing with one another to collect gold coins and level up. Precious gold collected in Fable Heroes can be imported into the forthcoming Kinect title, Fable: The Journey, providing players with a valuable head start from day one.Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition - May 9th - 1600 MSP The infinite possibilities in "Minecraft" just got bigger. "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition" brings the global phenomenon to console gamers for the first time. The Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game features an innovative new crafting interface, natural controller movements, a full Tutorial mode to teach the basics and for the first time in "Minecraft," split-screen multiplayer as well as over Xbox LIVE.All of these titles are being released during the period in which developers can decide to use the old or new XBLA Gamerscore cap, so they may contain 400G spread across as many as 30 achievements.
So there you have it folks! What titles will get a space on your hard drive? What are your thoughts as to the 1600 MSP price point for Minecraft? Let us know in the comments below! |

Cue the '1600MSP! WHAT A RIP OFF!' and 'Told you more GS would make games more expensive' comments in 5, 4...
Also, I'm not sure all of these games will have 400GS. Interestingly, Major Nelson uses the wording of 'up to 400GS', when describing these games, so maybe 1 or 2 will end up having only 200GS still.
EDIT: Ah, I see the trailer says all of them will have 400GS. I take my suspicions back then! |

| 1600MSP is way too much for an XBLA game. Especially since you know DLC is forthcoming. Let's go back to the lower price = more sales idea which makes up for price with volume sales! |

| Looks like Minecraft will start off the price point increase to coincide with the gamerscore increase. I'll be waiting for a sale if I get this, it takes quite a bit for me to fork out 1200 points on a game. Speaking of which, Trials will be day 1 purchase for me. |

Dear Microsoft,
Just because games are in a promotion, they do NOT need to be rip-offs. See Sam & Max, both episodes, where they are both still at 1600MSP each and have never been discounted.
Please also see the pricing you have for these upcoming games.
Yours faithfully, A. Loyal. Gamer. |

Minecraft not worth 1600msp? Minecraft is £16.95 for the PC version, 1600msp works out to be £12.95 if you buy points from the dashboard.
I'd say you're getting a saving there... |

| Minecraft costs less on the 360 than PC, but that won't stop people from complaining. XBLA has conditioned people to expect a very specific price range to the point where charging 1200msp for a game that is $50 on other platforms is deemed ridiculous by many forum dwellers. It was my most played game in 2011 and will probably also be in 2012, so I got my money's worth at an ever higher price. I don't see much reason to buy it again for 360, though. |
