Has anyone tested if achievements unlock on rented servers?
and if there is a min player start up
thinking of renting one to get some of the harder chevos in private matches  |

Don't know myself but will be very interested to find out if achieves unlock in Private matches. I'm personally leaning to a 'no', only for the simple fact that back in the Bad Co.1 days, MP achieves didn't unlock in unranked matches.
The achieves would unlock in a rented server that's RANKED, but I'm not sure what kind of power the rent-er would have such has kicking players and what not to make the server into a boosting sesh. |

| well ive just been playing on rented servers and unlocking ribbons so tomorrow i will try for the chevo to unlock all ribbons and we shall seei hope it works but im leaning towards it not working |

I get some ribbons on rented ranked server yesterday, leading to achievments. In fact, I even froze my xbox on one of them and still saved the ribbons get in the game I had to quit.
Don't know about non ranked though. |

got a server today, got achievements you just have to be cautious setting it up.
if you change to many things it makes the game unranked which = no chevos
me and a friend were the only 2 in my server got MVP chevo and kills and ribbons.
so it does work :) |

| I can confirm this. Got 'like a boss' on a 24/7 Karkand server. Not sure aboit a private server though... |

| Right now there's not really a point in renting a server unless you can get a specific group to play on it. Because there are so many already that have what you want. Example: There's about 100 24/7 Operation Metro servers. 95 or so people wasting money. |

The whole Rent a Server thing stinks to me. EA are making money providing something that they need to provide anyway. The only reason people rent a server is to set stupid settings, i.e.
- 500% settings, so you're playing a single game for 2 hours :-(
- Boosting, which you're in the way of
- Ability to boot you if you kill them, are too good or use a weapon they don't like
All the achievements are doable on standard servers. I've just got them :-) Giving EA money for something they need to do already is setting a dangerous precedent |
