Explanations are coming... for FREE
By now, everyone and their grandmother has heard that some gamers were quite unhappy with how BioWare chose to end Mass Effect 3. In response, BioWare has said that they were listening to fan's feedback and taking it into consideration moving forward. Today, an answer has been issued in the form of "Extended Cut" DLC.
Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder of BioWare explained some of what gamers can expect to see from the Extended Cut:
We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect 3 and the work done by Casey Hudson and team. Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding. With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe.Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect went on to add:
We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player. The "Extended Cut" DLC for Mass Effect 3 will be free and will be available to download this summer.

| You idiots (at Bioware) are completely selling and out and setting a dangerous precedent. If this is how the industry is evolving then count me out. It is truly a sad day when an artist gives in to please a bunch of whiny gamers. |

Sad... how does one clarify such a horribly rushed, plothole filled ending.
The Fans out-crying to Bioware don't want 'clarity' we want an ending that makes sense to the series, not Deux Ex : Space Edition Ending. |

Of course i am waiting to see how they try to explain it in a way that works. |
You want it when? |

| Is it gonna change anything? Still going to be an A, B, or C ending like Hudson said it wouldn't? Is it just going to add more cutscenes to the already plothole-creating canon-destroying ending? |

Yay! And to all of those people who are unhappy with this DLC;
Why shouldn't an artists vision be altered when it was their 'vision' that ruined the ending to a franchise which millions love and are passionate about? Those gamer's aren't being whiny they are voicing their opinions about something which is important to them.
While a lot of people were fine with the ending (like myself) there cannot be a single person who thinks the endings answered all of their questions, were not in anyway vague or lived up to the hype!
I say congratulations Bioware, you are going to make SO MANY people happy! :) |

| What i find strange is that people don't like the ending so they 'FIXED IT'. I wonder if that would work on any other game or movie for that matter. You hear that Epic lol . I need free dlc to fix my gears of war 3 ending. |

Ah, I can still remain hopeful that the real ending will just be
SPOILERS
"Shepard" is just some kid daydreaming the whole thing while working at a McDonalds. Or, at least the last ten minutes (after Marauder Shields but before the Space Elevator) of Mass Effect 3. |

Personally, I hope they all get into the Normandy and it explodes (prior to any of the events shown at the "real" ending) |

Yes it's a dangerous precedent, because Bioware will totally be the first, I mean it's not like Bethesda didn't release DLC because fans complained about the problems with Fallout 3's ending.
And author's totally haven't changed their books, or added books to appease fans/editors *cough* Great Expectation and Sherlock Holmes *cough*
It seems an entire company pulling a Peter Monelux (sp?) and fans speaking out against it is Dangerous. |

| People are so stupid. Oh they didn't like the ending, they're whiners. No, clearly you have no standards, no taste, and just take any authority figures word on anything. Stop being an ignorant twat and recognize how unconnected the last ten minutes are to the entire rest of the fucking series. PLUS THE FLATOUT LIE THAT IT WOULDN'T BE AN A, B, or C ENDING. |

| We'll have to wait and see what this looks like, but I don't take it as caving in. If they want to elaborate on the ending sequence without omitting anything that was there previously, it sounds like it has the potential to please both the people who liked and the people who disliked the ending. |

There was nothing wrong with the Gears 3 ending...
Anyways, I didnt mind the ending but it did feel lacking in that there was too much left unanswered. I hope that it expands the ending without changing what there already is. |
