Strange, these 'new' screens seem awfully familiar
Late last month, Digital Leisure revealed that a version of its ever-present laserdisc title, Dragon's Lair, would be coming to the Xbox LIVE Arcade and would feature Kinect-enhanced controls. For those of you put-off by the needing-to-get-off-your-couch thing, Dragon's Lair will fully support a standard controller as well.
PlayXBLA has nabbed some exclusive shots of the title, so we're passing them along to you. One thing to note, though, is that the score counter is displayed differently than in the original screenshots we posted, and this new set of screens also does not show any Kinect prompts. Whether or not these issues are dependent on your selected controller input remains to be seen.

Dragon's Lair is scheduled for release some time later this year. |

| I remember seeing this game or the space one (can't remember) in the arcades when I was young and have always been intrigued by it. I may just have the chance to try it out now. |
Feel free to add me or message me for assistance on any similar games =) |

| How many systems are they gonna port this game to? Its a short game with barely any replayability as its only originally a Laserdisc game. Its only a movie with QTE. It was cool in the 80's thou. |

| I'd rather just play this on my NES, although I wouldn't mind playing it without broken controls. |

| Pics bring back memories (#1, the space game was "Space Ace"). I'm tempted to get this but, after all, it's just a QTE. The intrigue of the game when it came out in arcades was it's graphics. |

Shockingly, I've never actually finished this game in any of its incarnations...

If you grew up in the age of Atari, you saw this and wet yourself.
Video games didn't look like this.
Hell, the graphics STILL hold up, and we've experienced 30 years of technology. Think about that. (Yes, I know, they aren't "graphics" per se, but you know damn well what I mean)
Think about playing Pac Man then looking over and seeing this. There was no comparison. I think every quarter I ever made from ages 5 to 7 was spent on this game at the local pizza place that had it. And I sucked at it. Big time. Didn't care.
And fantastic to know that non-kinect people like myself will be able to engage it. My score needs some Dragon's Lair. |
