Click through, adventurer. Your trailer awaits!
For a nearly 30-year old game, Don Bluth's Dragon's Lair is certainly still going strong. Recently, Digital Leisure announced that the Xbox 360 could be added to the list of over 60 devices to which the game has been ported.
Of course, it wouldn't do to just pop the title on to XBLA, so this one will come with improvements, the most notable of which being that you can now choose to control Dirk the Daring by actually stepping into his shoes using the power of Kinect. In addition to the new motion-control scheme, Dragon's Lair on XBLA will also include co-op play, the ability to take and send pictures via Kinect Photo Share, and a watch mode that lets you just sit back and enjoy the animation.
Does this all seem like a lot to grasp? Thankfully, Digital Leisure has released a video with several details on the upcoming game.

Dragon's Lair is scheduled for release some time later this year.

Loved the original and plan on getting this as its a classic.
I defend kinect since its starting to show some nice features for games but dont want it in old school classic games. |

| This video makes it look like it'll be cropped from its original 1.33:1 aspect ratio presentation down to a 1.78:1 aspect ratio (to allow for widescreen TVs, no doubt). Is there any information on this? Digital Leisure released this on blu-ray in a cropped 1.33 so maybe they're going to do it again. When Don Bluth's fantastic art is the main appeal of this game, it's a shame we'll lose some of it with this transfer. |

| This is how the developer came up with the idea: So we take a shitty game and we add Kinect to it................. |

The concept of reacting as Dirk would react in this game is an interesting one. And its one that IF DONE RIGHT would be a fun way to play this game. People knocking it before its even come out is a shame as it has the potential to be a good game.
If you dont want to play it dont buy it simple as that. If you are judging it before its even released, at least download the demo to justify your premature judgement when it comes out.
That said it is a simplistic game ported over many consoles so anything over 800MSP (and that is if I like the demo) and it will do the game no favours. |

I remember sitting my quarters on the cabinet and fighting crowds watching and playing this game. (Hell Ya I'm old!) The arcade even put it outside of the arcade in the mall causeway because it was such a draw.
That being said it is an old game and maybe the first real QTE game. Maybe for nostalgia. |
