Extra time needed for some polish
THQ announced today via a blog post that the release of Vigil Games' Darksiders II will be delayed until August.
The rumor-mill has been churning with speculation recently, so we wanted to put it to rest first here with our core fans: Darksiders II will be moving to release globally in August 2012, rather than June as previously announced. It’s just a short delay, but we promise the game you’ll have in August will be well worth the wait!
This is great news for the team at Vigil, because it allows additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting. In game development, more time is always a good thing for quality and the Vigil team is dedicated to providing the definitive Darksiders experience.The post went on to explain that the delay has nothing to do with recent staff reductions at Vigil Games, and that the game will ship with the same amount of content as planned.
Exact street dates are going to be announced in the coming days, and we'll be sure to pass the info along before it gets re-added to our release date calendar. Get up to speed with all of our previous Darksiders II coverage here. |

| Read "polish" as we dont like our competition in June so we are moving to August. Which is fine I have too many games to play as is. |

Not too disappointed. I borrowed a friends' copy of the first.. 2 years ago.. only popped the first achievement

| what a surprise right? THQ is falling apart bit by bit and i am growing more and more tired of their issues. darsiders is being treated like common crap after they found out the first was an unexpected hit. see how they made it all preorder friendly and heavy on the future planned dlc compared to the first which really had none of that because they expected it to not do well. layoffs, games cancelled, adidas lawsuit, darsiders delayed most likely to add kinect features and a multiplayer that features 100 online ranked wins in public matches that you will need an online pass for. ugh talk about a run on sentence. so i hope they can straighten up and get it done. oh and please stop making kinect titles THQ because your QA on them sucks! cheers! |

OT I am a bit sad by this but I have been waiting so long on it that I won't really notice an extra couple months, it may give me time to get some extra pennies together and upgrade my pre order |
