Crashing this May, soon after the demo
Codemasters dropped a news bomb on us today with plenty of new info surrounding their wreck-promoting racing game, DiRT Showdown. First of all a demo for the next in the DiRT series will hit the marketplace in just a few weeks -- May 1st.
Also announced is the beginning of the all-new Codemasters racing hub for gamers, called RaceNet. Think of it as a stat-tracker (like Battlelog or CoD: ELITE ) for your racing career across Codemasters' racing library. The service will launch in beta the same day as the demo. Many more details are promised to come soon, but haven't been revealed for now.
Then, a few weeks after that, you'll be able to get behind the wheel of the retail release at the end of May. In celebration of that announcement, the developers have released this new gameplay video. In it, you'll see exactly why this isn't just DiRT 4.

I'm liking the look of this, still haven't started Dirt 3 yet, so i'll have pull my finger out.
Really like the original Mini in the first image, I only managed to own 5 of them in real life.
Also like the racenet idea, about time us race fans had something like this, be interesting to see how it plays out. |

| Thank god its not another boring as shite Rally game, I hated Dirt 3. I will definitely get this as it is more arcadey, and hence actually fun to play for once. |

| Very stoked about Codemasters recent announcements. Looking forward most to F1 but equally the DiRT series and GRID 2 hopefully sometime down the line. |

I said I wasn't going to get this as it seems to focus on the one thing I hated about Dirt 3, Gymkhana!
The closer it gets though, the more tempted I get! |

| I loved Dirt and Dirt2. Adding gymkhana in Dirt3 killed it for me. Fun as hell to watch in real life. In a video game? Not so much. |
