Consider this a warning to anyone who didn't get the bundle. I bought the A6M2 Zero, ascended to 32k ft, unlocked the proper achievement, made a save to make an attempt at Mach 1.
Nosedive with the Zero at 32k - 580 kts, no achievement. Nosedive with the Stearman at 32k - 500 kts, no achievement. Nosedive with the Zero at 39k - 605 kts, no achievement.
At this point, I bought the P-51 Mustang. Curious if it was just the one needed piece of DLC before it would unlock.
Nosedive with the Zero at 39k - 605 kts, no achievement. (Pilot profile says 650, which is even worse.) Nosedive with the Mustang at 39k - achievement pops at 420 kts.
So despite the fact that the Zero is capable of it, you explicitly need the P-51 Mustang to unlock this achievement. This isn't a major problem now, since there's a bundle that packs the extra islands, Maule, and Mustang, but for those who didn't see it or bought some DLC before the bundle was released, the Zero by itself can't unlock both achievements. |

| Have you tried deleting your .gpd file for the game? |

| Well, it's a bit late for that, as I ended up getting the Mustang to test my theory. I'll try it again late this weekend and see if I can get on my DLC with a separate account. |

| Does anyone know how much you can play without unlocking an achievement? I want to see how it will do on my computer before it goes on my gamertag. |

Not far at all. If you fly the first mission you get it right away. Try making up another GT. Make a new e-mail address. I use a MSN, but it doesn't matter. Then create a new GT and then download it. It's free and you can have as many GFWL GTs as you want. Takes like 5 minutes. |
