| Hi guys. I'm taking a shot in the dark here because all my research seems to indicate I'm out of luck. My gamertag is part of the Gold Family Plan which apparently means that I have no access to any server with Halo 2 PC. The solution of course seems to be, just remove my tag from the gold plan but I am the primary for the account and that seems like it will give me more trouble than the achievements are worth. The game is very old and out of mind for most people but does anyone in the TA community have any experience with this? Thanks! |

Yeah that's an issue with the game itself after the metro xbl update. You can try resetting your games data and stats, helped a couple sort it out before.
To do this navigate to (Users/*username here*/AppData/Local/Microsoft/XLive/Content/*E followed by random latters and numbers*/FFFE07D1\00010000\*E followed by random latters and numbers*F_MountPt
and delete the file named 4D530064.gpd
This will delete all singeplayer progress and data. and will make the game think you've never played it before. |

I'm dragging myself through on Legendary and there is no way in Hell I'm doing The Arbiter missions over again. It looks like I may have to set the multiplayer achievements aside until next year when my plan is up. |

| Any update on a fix for this? With the servers shutting down in a little under a month and my gold family account running out in may I want to knock these online achievements off. Is there way to suspend my family account for a few days? |

| I just called them today, took about 15 minutes. They took off my family plan (expires in March) and prorated 10 months on my main account. Now am just going to put a 3 month on my wife's account. |

Which number did you call? I just got online support where they told me they couldn't help me because my request didn't happen within the first 30 days of being in a family pack.
edit: Also. Way to pick up on this one idiot:

Could any1 help me? I've already complete campaign so I don't mind deleted progress. I just want to be able to play multiplayer online and get those last pesky achievements. I contacted them about the problem but they offer no solution. they simply tell me there is no way to transfer primary account holder onto a different account, and there is no way to cancel my membership and award me gold membership.
When i go to users i get. "users, name, but then there is no appdata" |

Okay i found it but i did not find: 4D530064.gpd

the reason there might be two is maybe because i have two profiles?
edit:in case any1 else is reading this hoping for help, I found these folders by searching for "xlive". AppData gave lots of results and make sure you capitalize it b/c "appdata" will yield no results :p |

Okay I would just like to post that after 90mins on xbox support, I resolved my personal issue. (3rd time trying)
I was the primary account holder for gold membership. They were not able to kick me out of family gold because of that.
When I called up, I explained my problem. I said I had contacted Gfwl several times and they told me there was nothing they could do to fix the problem I had. I told them the reason I could not play the games I halo 2 vista because I was family gold. I told them they had tried to assist me several times(and they have), but concluded it was out of their hands because it deals with the way family gold membership interacts with these specific games. I also sounded desperate.
After i was transferred to the specialist, I was again transfer to a higher up specialist, where she was able to refund me 75.99 because I was 3 months into the membership. Now I have 76 dollars and currently silver membership. I am now instantly able to play halo 2 PC online. |

So far i know, no xbox live gold is required for any GFWL game and if the game does ask for it or causes some other similar problem, it's the game fault (maybe the game engine and GFWL conflicting). |
