Dragon Age: Origins Bloodied The Bloodied achievement in Dragon Age: Origins worth 10 pointsCompleted an origin story without the main character ever falling in battle

Needs the flag missable removed. This achievements is not missable. It requires the player to complete an origin story (beginning of the game) without falling in battle. Even if you miss it, you can just replay any of the beginnings... within the hour.

Dragon Age: Origins Hopelessly Romantic The Hopelessly Romantic achievement in Dragon Age: Origins worth 59 pointsAcross all playthroughs, experienced all possible romances

I'd like to start a discussion if some achievements require the missable flag. I'll do that in a post in the thread that gets created when I press submit explaining my train of thought about them. I'm copy pasting this exact text in the boxes for the other achievements I want to discuss that are similar.

Alrighty, let me explain why I want a discussion about the missable flag for these achievements. The reason I'm doing this is because the achievement descriptions clearly state "Across all playthroughs". If something is meant to be done across all playthroughs should it really get a missable flag? There are some differences between the 3 achievements though which I will try to point out underneath each of them.
Dragon Age: Origins Hopelessly Romantic The Hopelessly Romantic achievement in Dragon Age: Origins worth 59 pointsAcross all playthroughs, experienced all possible romances
This one in my eyes is the 'easiest' one of the 3 in terms of what my feelings are about it. It is impossible to get this achievement in 1 playthrough so adding the missable flag seems kind of pointless. The requirements for each romance can be missed in each playthrough though from my understanding.
Dragon Age: Origins Perfectionist The Perfectionist achievement in Dragon Age: Origins worth 125 pointsAcross all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings
This one is a little weird too, the only way to get all of these in 1 playthrough is with careful saving at some point. The main issue I have with it here is that the intention of the achievement is to do it in multiple playthroughs. Technically you could choose the same ending every time though so in that sense it would still be missable.
Dragon Age: Origins Recruiter The Recruiter achievement in Dragon Age: Origins worth 44 pointsAcross all playthroughs, recruited all party members
This is the only achievement that you can get in 1 playthrough without ever making a manual save and reverting back, so this one is the only one I can REALLY understand the missable flag on, especially since you can actually miss certain companions.

Maybe all 3 of these deserve the missable flag just because a warning would be nice. But because of the "Across all playthroughs" part in it maybe the flag description needs to change to reflect that? Maybe all of this has already been discussed, I don't know that obviously :P

Cheers,

Ronald

well the last one like you said is possible to get in one playthrough, and if you dontt you will have to play through again so i think it should stay missable, the other 2 shouldnt. (also i remember in some other flag discussion multiple playthroughs required got missable removed)

The team has considered your arguments and weighed them carefully. It is a rare circumstance to find such notes in the flavour texts and we believe it is to be a reassuring factor to the user. The site focuses on achievements and as such we consider our users to want to go for the shortest and quickest way.

With the right save, right before the final meeting I believe, you can get all endings. It is customary to flag achievements which are a result of an exclusive branching patch as missable. Not to flag them as such only because the flavour text mentions that you can do it across multiple playthroughs seems inconsistent with the rest of our flags.

You can recruit all characters in one playthrough if you know where they are. Here the addendum to the flavour text sounds more like it is aimed to tell you that your previous characters count. Romancing characters is a bit more tricky but with the right planing and saves it does not take multiple playthroughs.

Nevertheless, thank you for your submission and for starting a discussion!

Epsilon Theta said: Romancing characters is a bit more tricky but with the right planing and saves it does not take multiple playthroughs. This is wrong because it is actually impossible to romance Alistair if you play as a male character and similarly it is impossible to romance Morrigan if you play as a female character.

Therefore it does require multiple playthroughs, however one can be a partial playthrough to finish up any remaining romances.

Excuse me? It does not take multiple playthroughs? This is straight from the solution:

Got PEZ said:Alistair:

...

NOTE: Alistair is straight and to score with him you must play as a girl character.

Leliana

...

NOTE: Leliana is bisexual and you can score with her as a boy or a girl character.

Morrigan

...

NOTE: Morrigan is straight and you can only score with her as a boy character.

Zevran

...

NOTE: Zevran is bisexual and will get with any character you make.
Like liiami said this is confirmed by the wiki of the game. So unless the team knows something the solution and wiki doesn't it would require more than 1 (partial) playthrough.

Overall I understand the decision and I always assumed this would be the final verdict...except for this romancing achievement. Since you can't get it in 1 playthrough it's equally misleading as it is helping to have missable on there...in my opinion of course laugh

Thanks for the feedback smile

facepalm All the brainpower and we still didn't think of characters only being able to romance with a specific sex. I'll be restarting the discussion but I don't expect a different outcome. The flag is valuable to let people know they need to playing carefully less they miss the achievement, requiring to invest yet more time even if the flavour text mentions additional playthroughs.

Thankies for the submission but as the DLC can be completed in under an hour, this disqualifies Missable from the achievement.
