wbs 101 has just submitted some Game Info for Amaneka of Dawn and the Deep-Blue Golem:
Genre change from Adventure to Strategy Sub Genre change from Visual Novel to Turn Based Strategy
wbs 101 said:The Japanese name for the game is Akatsuki No Amaneka To Aoi Kyojin the current name of the game isn't necessarily incorrect but makes it harder to find because most places use the actual name. This game is listed as a visual novel game but is actually a turn based strategy. Visual novel games have no gameplay but is just reading text almost like a video game comic book. This game is much harder than any visual novel game and is affecting peoples place on the leaderboards.
Here is a link from xbox360achievements that lists the game as strategy http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/akatsuki-no-amaneka-...
Here is a link to Gamespot that lists the game as strategy http://www.gamespot.com/akatsuki-no-amaneka-to-aoi-kyojin/pl...
Here is a link to Gamefaqs and under description it is listed as turn-based strategy http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/976795-akatsuki-no-amaneka-t...
Here is a link to Vgchartz that lists the game as strategy http://www.vgchartz.com/game/41710/akatsuki-no-amaneka-to-ao...
The only screenshots and videos I could find was for the PSP and PC versions but if you need to see some just message the gamertag wbs 101 and I would be happy to take some for you (the game isn't listed on my gamercard yet because I haven't gotten an achievement yet) |

Thank you for your submission. We tend not to add genres based on other sites. We do the classification based on our genres. That being said, we also have a hard time finding gameplay videos but our resident Japanese staff member classified it and we trust him. Would you mind detailing the gameplay so that we have more information to go by?
Also, we usually stick with the western name for games as it makes it easier for all non-Japanese countries to search for the game. |

Wouldn't it make more sense to use the romanji like you do for Ore no Yome: Anata Dake no Hanayome if the game has never been translated? |

Also, we usually stick with the western name for games as it makes it easier for all non-Japanese countries to search for the game.In the game, the player create a team, equip them with items and equipments and proceed to explore the dungeons that lie underneath the capital. Any discovered treasures can either be handed over to the academy to gain fame, or sold on the black market to gain fortune. The game requires the player to maintain and balance the amount fame and fortune (Both of which are required in order to complete the game)
This is the games description, obviously it is not a visual novel and supports the change of genre, I think we should have a look at more of these Japanese genres recommended by just the one person.
Edit: To further support the change xbox.com also puts the game in the Strategy and Simulation genres |

| I do not think there is anything obvious about the description. I believe actual playtime is needed to make an accurate genre categorisation in this case. We'd ask you to be patient! |

Visual Novel - Visual Novels consist primarily of static images accompanied by text or spoken dialogue. In these games, the player may be confronted with choices which determine the branch of the storyline that will be shown. Visual Novels are distinct for their lack of gameplay challenges in favour of pure storytelling.
This is the sites description for the genre, if this game does indeed include turn-based strategy gameplay then I would think it wouldnt be a Visual Novel.. |

I am not "yelling" at anyone. It was a general statement to ask you to watch this spot but hold your horses until we have been able to get some first hand info on the game.
P.S.: There is no genre team. |

| The team has concluded its thorough investigation and concluded that the game is best suited as an Adventure game with no sub-genre. While it does include a strong Visual Novel part, it isn't a pure Visual Novel and as such best suited without that sub-genre. Thank you all for your contributions! |
