| Not a dungeon crawler, while there is a reasonably decent loot system, the focus is more on the storyline and getting through it, there is no emphasis on loot/grinding. You can easily finish the game just using what you get as you go, there is no need to repeatedly go through the same areas killing enemies to obtain high level loot. |

Daggerdale probably shouldn't be a dungeon crawler because the loot isn't randomized, just a list of preset options that can drop. |

| Loot grinding is an option in almost any game with loot drops and revisitable areas, does not mean they should all be Dungeon Crawlers. |

| Loot grinding is an option in Dungeon Crawlers as well, I have beaten several using just what I pick up as I advance through the story. I don't think it makes sense to say that Dungeon Crawlers require loot grinding, or that a game that doesn't require loot grinding cannot be a Dungeon Crawler. |

| The point is there is not a huge emphasis on the loot system. |

All good points, but they seem to be missing the main one. Obviously this game isn't the epitome of Dungeon Crawlers, but neither is it for Action RPGs. It doesn't fit into either cookie cutter.
From my perspective, it fits better into the Crawler cutter than Action's one though. |

The team has discussed your submission and come to the decision that we are not going to change the genre. We simply do not get the Dungeon Crawler vibe from this game. There is no incentive to replay an area, stock up on items, improve your gear beyond what you are given anyway or explore the environment to find hidden bonuses. There is also an undeniable drive forward which makes it feel very linear and driven which is not typical for Dungeon Crawlers which tend to encourage some exploration.
Nevertheless, thank you! |

| Thank you for your submission, however, we have decided to keep it in the action RPG subgenre. We feel that there is not enough emphasis on loot or grinding for experience or better equipment. |
