You thought you were done dying

For those of you out there who managed to persevere through Dark Souls, your adventure is not done yet. A week ago, we told you Dark Souls would be receiving its first DLC, "Artorias of the Abyss". Not to leave the fans with nothing but a vague release date of "Winter" and a price of 1200 points, NAMCO Bandai has released 10 screenshots of the upcoming DLC for us to look at while we sharpen our blades and polish our armor. I won't keep you waiting.

Could do with a heap more armour and weapons as well. Black Knight armour and Gravelord Sword are starting to get boring...

Cannot wait! Dark Souls was an amazing game, and one of my proudest 1000 G's. I was hoping for this content when it was announced for PC, and regardless of achievements or not (although I hope there are!), I shall be purchasing this content.

I haven't started Dark Souls yet, might wait until all DLC has been released before dying over and over.

Mattpm13 said:Looks really nice but I'm still trying to build up the courage to play this game.I bought it because of Demon's Souls infamous difficulty and I was absolutely amazed by Dark Souls. At first, the game may seem really hard and there's lots to learn, but once you know how to survive in an area and what play style you like most, things will go much easier. Of course this all resets with every new area and enemy, but the game never started to frustrated me. I always saw the act of dying as a big second chance to gain additional souls, learn to fight better and possibly regain all of my lost souls resulting in even more "cash" I could spend.

Once you've played through the entire game, all new playthroughs on NG+ or with a new character will be much easier because you are familiar with the levels and enemies. For me that makes Dark Souls more a game about learning how to overcome obstacles than developing skill (but you still need some, especially on NG+++ and further). Of course, you may choose to play a character that's very agile and doesn't rely on blocking thus needs to evade a lot requiring quick reaction time on your side.

I can only recommend the game to you if you like (action) RPGs and if you want to experience a game that's rewarding to play and offers an incredible bleak atmosphere.

I love Dark Souls, and am incredibly proud of my 1000/1000 in it. This DLC is really exciting and yet absolutely terrifying at the same time. For those who haven't played, the adrenaline rush you get before each death and rebirth is very addicting. Not only will you get back to that bastard who killed you, but you WILL kick ass while you do it, or die trying, again, and again, and again. So pumped to return to Lordran next winter. Praise the sun!

BADASSBLTZKRIEG said:Dethfuse said:worst game series ever made...everWorst comment ever made........ever.Now that is debatable. Though it's most likely just the rage of one who died a few too many times. laugh More common a problem than you would think.

DLC is looking interesting, glad to see they actually took their time releasing it rather than a couple weeks after release.
You seem a little furious...

Also, fuck Namco Bandai, really dislike them for their numerous 'beta' Xbox 360 games *coughstaroceanandtalesofvespariatonameafewcough* I will have to get this though, great game, even if it pisses me off sometimes.

Mattpm13 said:Looks really nice but I'm still trying to build up the courage to play this game.I think there are harder games out there if I'm honest, the tough part of the game is learning how to play it and learning where enemies and traps are located, parts of it will also require patience, sometimes a lot of it (Smough and Ornstein T_T). Also, you could save yourself a lot of time and effort by knowing what type of character you want to play as and the best way of levelling your character to utilise those skills, otherwise you'll make the same mistake I made.

My first play through took a long time and a lot of it was spent levelling my character up (since I screwed that up), in total it was about 130 hours or something, but I could have halved that if I'm honest. My second playthrough took about 10 hours since I knew everything I was doing - that just goes to show that once you've got a firm grasp of the game its not that bad. I would definitely recommend it though, its one of the few masterpieces from this generation in my opinion - alongside Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV, Mass Effect Trilogy (mainly the second and third installments) and the Uncharted series.
