Also announces Military Edition
EA and Danger Close Games have put a lot of effort into partnerships and realism for their upcoming release of Medal of Honor: Warfighter. EA announced 'Project Honor' recently, which is geared to helping people gain awareness and to supply donations for fallen soldiers of the Special Forces community for their sacrifices and to help the families of these warriors. Previously announced partnerships include Kaenon, U.S. Optics and La Rue, which were created not only for realism, but also to donate towards the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation for the benefit of Project HONOR.
Greg Goodrich, Executive Produce of Medal of Honor, had this to say regarding Project HONOR.
We have a tremendous amount of respect for our service men and women around the world and a deep level of gratitude for the sacrifices both they and their families make on a daily basis [...] We’ve teamed up with some of the biggest military brands to deliver an authentic experience in Medal of Honor Warfighter. We’re excited to work with these great partners to also launch Project HONOR to raise awareness for the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and drive real world contributions of which we can be proud.John T. Carney, Jr. President of Special Operations Warrior Foundation had this to say in regards to EA and Project HONOR.
This partnership with EA and Medal of Honor will raise awareness on the work we do to help the families of fallen Special Operations warriors and facilitate contributions that help provide college scholarships for surviving children and financial assistance to families of severely wounded special operations warriors, [...] This is a great way to give back to some of our country’s greatest warriors.Jim Smith, Executive Director of the Navy SEAL Foundation, had this to say regarding the partnership with EA and Project HONOR.
Our mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families, [...] We are excited to be working with EA and Medal of Honor on this fantastic program that will ultimately benefit the lives of our service men and women and their families.Danger Close Games also announced the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Military Edition, which will include the limited edition, exclusive in-game unlocks and the Project HONOR exclusive camoflauge. It must be noted, however, that the Military Edition will be an exclusive release only for reserve, active and former military personnel, and it will be made available through GovX, Inc. Use of the site for ordering the game is only available to American armed forces personnel and Government employees.
The exclusive in-game unlocks are not known at this point; however, it was noted that they will be available for use in the GovX account from which you choose to order on the day Medal of Honor: Warfighter is released. Details regarding how active or former military personnel can order the game can be found directly at the GovX.com website.
Fans awaiting the release can expect Medal of Honor: Warfighter in North America on October 23rd and in Europe on October 26th. For all the details regarding the upcoming release head over to here.

I was raised in an Army household, and was in the Navy for 14 years, and I can 100% confirm that no benefits offered, then, or now, by any means make up for what veterans do every day. You live below the poverty line, you risk your life for unappreciative assholes, you spend most of your career away from the people you love, and most projects that do anything to thank you are criticized as doing it for publicity.
I for one will be buying this edition, and I understand the criticism about it being US only, but I have zero tolerance for ignorant dumbasses who want to make light of the sacrifices so many of us have made.
FYI...it is for military or GOVERNMENT employees, state and federal. After signing into the site, it is a bit more broad scope than the article makes it appear, so Police, Fire, National Guard, etc, are all eligible. |
Killer Punks...all that needs to be said. |

I too was raised in a military household and the "benefits" do not account for the danger and the broken families from being posted so often. I think that EA is doing a great job for introducing this idea. |

I was raised in a military family and I served in hole in wall areas with craptacular conditions. I was a personnelman and I know about military benefits. It's getting the VA office to work for you. But their under staffed it's stupid. And special forces get crazy pay: HDP, IDP, Parachute pay, HFP, FSA, scuba pay and Overseas pay. |

Pretty small marketing demographic if EA was truly concerned about "advertising."
I love the idea of a Military Edition... but why has no one commented on Project HONOR? I love that a publisher is trying to raise awareness and appreciation of our country's service members, particularly it's Operators.
As an Army Brat, and a serving Airman, it's nice to be thanked, regardless of how small... it's not like we are getting the game for free, or even at a discounted rate. Quit whining on how one specific edition ruins the game for you... |

| The fact that anyone would call this idea stupid is above my head. A bit of in game content solely for veterans and present soldiers is a great idea. Although its a game I don't think this exclusive content should EVER be released to the general public for MS points. Microsoft gave Xbox's to the creators with a thank you note on the X, Battlefield gave Dog tags to those ONLY who worked on the game and state troopers get a badge that nobody else can get. For once I would like to thank EA for doing a little something for the troops. So if anyone wants to get this special edition because sitting on the couch you somehow feel entitled to it.. Feel free to take a stroll down to your local recruiting office, your country will thank you on November 11th |

I love the idea of project honor. The devs at Danger Close are really pulling this title together in an amazing way. I believe our country has gotten away from paying respect to our armed forces, since the end of WWII. More than anything our soldiers have received disgust, more than praise. That is horridly wrong. Here's to hoping for change. |

wes coas crippn said:Military families have plenty of benefits. They are just looking for publicity.^Retard of the day. Seriously what the hell is wrong with you? My dad was an officer in the military for over a decade, lucky for me he settled down with a comfortable stable job by the time I was of age. So I have been very lucky that I havent had to live the rough life that most military families do. There are many families out there that will never see their family members again, and no amount of benefits will make that go away you fucking piece of shit. Your pathetic.
On a happy note I think MOH's whole fundraiser is nice. Is it an attempt to clean up EA's name? Maybe. But it's still a nice gesture |

And no I did not say it ruins the game, but it is like MacDonalds supporting disadvantaged kids. |
