Hey all, does anyone know somewhere I can get a Rock Band 3 guitar (the actual guitar, not the 127 button one) in the UK? Is it at all possible nowadays, and if so, for how much?
Did some looking around and can't seem to find anything :( |

Discontinued due to poor sales. You'd be lucky to find one anywhere. I paid just over £100.
My personal advice is to not bother. The first one I got, broke and would not function at all, and the second one's high E string jutted so to fix it requires restringing it with a special string that is expensive/hard-to-find. The RB3 Squier is a guitar, but feels a little awkward to play and hold as a guitar so don't get it for the sake of having a real guitar. You'd also have to buy the MIDI box which will have to be imported from USA.
The Mustang can be found in online stores for under £100 now and doesn't require a MIDI box.
There are some hardware modifications that allow you to use a real Guitar as a RB3 Pro-Guitar. It isn't illegal and in the long run, more worthwhile. I don't know much more about it though. |

Oh really? I actually have a real guitar available.
Does it involve console modifications, or just a third party device between the two do you know? |

Third party devices, as console mods would be obviously a problem.
The most common I've seen is using a guitar synth to convert to MIDI and then it plays properly in game. One called G2RBPRO (or something I forget the name). I'm not too sure about it's accuracy in churning out the right notes and keeping up with RB though. Good luck if you try it! |

| Yeah, sadly the squier is extremely difficult to find and expensive. So if you're wanting one you'll have to shell out some cash. |

I looked online about the using real guitar with a few mods. Think its about the same price to buy all the equipment needed than I would spend on the pro guitar anyway lol.
I just wanted something that's abit more realistic than 5 buttons is all. |

| i looked into this and was disappointed not to be able to get a copy, however, there are a couple of games coming out which are specifically made with a real guitar in mind, rocksmith, comes out in the UK on october 12th and another i just heard about bandfuse, i dont know much about it though, both allow you to use your own guitar with an adapter cable that comes with the game, cant wait! |

| I saw those games as well. The thing I like about rock band is its catalog and UI. I guess I can give those games a go though. |

| Probably the best thread for this - anyone recommend the cheapest place for getting the Mustang? |

I got mine at a local game store for $60.
Amazon is selling them for around the same price. |

Whenever I search for Rock Band 3 Pro Guitars, I've noticed the 360 ones are always the most expensive wherever I look. If you want it new, I've only seen that on Amazon for £169 Cheapest price I've found recently for a 360 Mustang guitar recently is £110 on ebay. There are some used ones on Amazon for £97 (including p&p). Same guitar for PS3 is £82. I assume there is no way that these guitars are cross compatible? They are also this cheap on the Wii aswell.
I wouldn't mind paying £80 for the Mustang guitar personally as I'm very interested in the pro guitar and bass. |
