THQ has ceased plans to release Saints Row: The Third’s standalone expansion, Enter the Dominatrix.
Instead, the publisher is incorporating the content into what it’s calling “The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise.”
"When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise," said THQ president Jason Rubin.
"I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game.
"When it comes to Saints Row, it's clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that's why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013."
The game is due to launch at some point after April next year.

I was both happy and sad when I heard that 3.5 had been scrapped in exchange for a full sequel... On the down side, we have to wait longer to play it (I think 3.5 was originally set to release this fall), but we get another full game instead of just a half priced add-on! Saints Row 3 was one of the first few games I beat 100%, I couldn't stop playing it.
I read online somewhere before 3.5 was scrapped that they already had ideas for another full sequel, so if this one goes well then (unless they're combining ideas from 3.5 and the original #4) there could possibly be a Saints Row 5 in the future! (I know, very optimistic. Haha) |

| i sure hope THQ is around that long i didn't like saint row 1 or 2. the third was the best in the title i think i had a lot of fun playing it solo or co-op its a great game. when i heard 3.5 was coming out i was very excited and now a full game instead that's even better to me as long as it plays like the third and not 1 or 2. |

2 was pretty solid but way too easy like 3 was... the first one provided the most challenge, but definitely needed a more defined look and feel. The third was however fun for a change of pace style, however other than the morning stars the gangs left a lot to be desired. Stag was a nice change, but also brought over-the-top vehicles that made it too easy. A little too childish... should have been treated more adult themed,
Though Genki's super reality show activity was fun. Beef the next one up to Mature rating close to AO, let it be what its supposed to be and dont dwindle it down for 12 year olds! |
